DAK 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

It doesn't stop them from keeping DHS open later, despite also being a half day park. Obviously DHS has Fantasmic, but DAK could have a night show as well if Disney was interested in running one.

It will be especially hard to justify not keeping DAK open later once Indy and Encanto are open, but I assume they will at that point.
it’s a very different situation though. After dark, a huge part of DAK needs to shut down - the animal trails, the bird show, the safari (they determined it just didn’t work when they tried the dusk look), Rafiki’s shuts down, no one wants to ride Kali and be soaked. There’s just not enough to do for everyone. Getting Tropical America up and running will help and hopefully will coincide with a new night show.

DHS doesn’t as far as I can tell has this problem. Everything runs at night as it does during daytime

DHS also just has a lot more to do all day.
MMRR, RNRC, TOT, ST, Slinky, TSMM, Alien, MFSR, RotR, Mickey Shorts, Villains, BatB, Mermaid, Dis Jr., OMD, Indy, and Frozen

AK even during the day only has FOP, Navi, FotLK, Safari, Birds, Kali, Everest, Nemo, Dino, Gorilla, Jungle Trek, Rafiki's

No
The park just doesn’t have enough to warrant staying open past 6 or 7. They need to add about 6 rides and a nighttime show to really flesh out this park. It is definitely still a half day park…and this is coming from someone who does all the animal trails, Planet Watch, and all the rides and shows.
you must walk very fast and have a lot of LL passes! AK is a full day park for us, and we also do all of the shows, rides, trails, etc., including Rafiki's Planet Watch.

There are more animal trails at DAK that you aren't mentioning, as well as the Boneyard. I mean if we're counting stuff like Mickey Shorts and Disney Jr, then we need to count everything at DAK too. And with that in mind, DAK and DHS have a similar number of attractions: 15 for DAK & 17 for DHS.

So let's not pretend like there is some rift between them where one of them has way more to do than the other. They're both (similarly) underbuilt.

If you only like Tomorrowland, MK is a half day park too.

What a ridiculous comparison lol.

Except can you really imagine either of the leads naked? After all, the bugs weren't wearing clothes in the movie or the attraction. I think that wouldn't work for Zootopia (in fact the poster shows them wearing clothes so the point is moot). One was about bugs. The other features humans disguised as animals.
I’m guessing you’ve never seen the movie because there is a whole scene that takes place in a nudist sanctuary, the joke being that we see animals naked all the time. But the movie is not straight up animals for humans. The world and history that was created goes out of its way to explain these animals have evolved from their primitive forms, and the rural and city areas are all created to accommodate the different animals, not humans.

Being used to the UK theme parks openings hours, hearing that AK closing at 6 making it a half day park, does make me laugh. It's open 8-5 today, that's still 9 hours, but the park does need enough to make sure people spend all day there, even if it's getting there early. Hopefully once Tropical Americas is open, there'll be enough to keep people there in the afternoon at least

Get out of here with that nonsense.

If you plan to experience literally every single thing the park offers then it's not a half day park, but neither is DAK using that criteria.

Most people aren't going to be interested in everything at DHS (or at any park). I personally find DHS the weakest overall park at WDW and it's not even really close. Galaxy's Edge definitely helped (not as much as it should considering Smuggler's Run is mediocre), but it wasn't nearly enough to fix the park.

I can tell you that for US, HWD IS a half day park…we’re NOT big SW fans and my DW doesn’t ride ToT, RnRC & SDD, so that leaves ME w/ single rider lines…AK could be a full day park for us (if we do all of the trails). The only ride @ AK that I do solo is Everest. Even when we went on our honeymoon in 1993, MGM was a half day park for us (AND there was a lot more exploring to do)…
Epcot & MK are multi day parks for us.

But hey, you do you…

Well I guess.... But for me and my group, DHS is definitely still a half day park. We have been done with the decades-old shows, we would never attend the Cartoon shorts or sing along things.... I was bored with Midway Mania and the other two Toy Story attractions... We like TOT, RNRC (Though we have not been on it in years due to the ridiculous lines) Millenium Falcon we have done enough to know we don't want to do it again.... Rise is a great ride....So pretty much, for us, it's a few rides, lunch, then back to the hotel for pool and cocktails.....Which is pretty much the same for Animal Kingdom....
EPCOT is quickly becoming the same...

Yes!!! I have been saying for years that every park should have a minimum 25 attractions (this includes shows). Only MK meets this standard. My wife loves AK, yet trying to take everything in if we start at rope drop we will be heading back to the resort by 2pm. Since Hollywood Studios is not either of our favorite parks, even when we are with grand kids, we will be finished before 1 pm. Now Epcot is a different story since my wife enjoys walking the countries and having a cocktail or two (I am not a drinker of alcoholic beverages)-- we can spend a full day.
