Wiki is (unsurprisingly) wrong.
I figured. I couldn’t find a single article or video when I googled that name that wasn’t just talking about merch and mentioning the ride is still Star Wars. Ugh.

When I was in DLP last September, a cast member I spoke to there said he really wants the original to come back and many people working there feel the same.

It’s gaining momentum but to the average guest it is popular but there’s the argument would a change of theme to something just as good plus being themetically suitable really be an issue? Or would it satisfy the casual guest and the purist ?

They just did a bunch of merch for the OG attraction
There is a very casual post somewhere on Twitter where the guy who creates the more specialist merch at DLP basically saying he has no interest in making merch for Hyperspace Mountain and the original Space Mountain merch sells so... he makes original Space Mountain merch. With nothing to be interpreted about what he produces to make Euros versus what we want to happen.

I couldn’t bring myself to cross that last time. Partly because we’d seen a family on it whose son (about 12) had started jumping on it and the Mum was left clinging on for dear life. It was like Indy. 😂😂

Next time I will. Probably!
Go early (or late) and you may have it to yourself. Plus it’s best way to get decent photos/video !

Thank Mickey DLP appreciate the caves and even plus them. Unlike the WDW execs.

I love the way Paris found a way to incorporate them into the Treehouse backstory too.
It just seems like their mentality over there is worlds away from WDW. They run the park as though they have great affection for it and enjoy crafting it and improving it. At WDW, it seems more a case of high-level executives making decisions, Imagineers doing the best they can, then all bets are off when it gets turned over to the local management team.

I wonder if it's because DLP doesn't want to spend enough money to actually create new attractions so they just end up needing to plus up what exists
