Which is why this could be temporary before something more substantive?
Wouldn’t it just be better to start on the substantial thing now

I mean unless they intend to fill the grizzly plot first

Since when this is built if it’s medium term the only thing the park has on the horizon is TOT which itself is already under construction

Oh yes. Don’t get me wrong it would that. I hope views from the Parachute Drop will give a clue as to a big concrete building or just a tent with a facade.

It just seems without a big fanfare and devoid of details if it’s something substantive. I’ll check it out myself later this year

To be fair Disney really seems to be going that route a lot recently

Like they only a few months ago went “oh yeah by the way Disney Abu Dhabi”

I do hope we get some more concrete details on it soon though

This has just opened in Shanghai Disneyland, where they've previously had Launch Bay and an Avatar Walk-through. Wonder if Hong Kong will take any inspiration from it

We visited this exhibition a few days ago and it was great fun! Wouldn't be mad at it if they cloned this at the other parks. Will look in my photos if I took some pics of it and if so, post them here.

But it’s in an area that doesn’t have anything in it
I recently saw a translated social media comment about the age of Festival of the Lion King so what I’m afraid of is that they could use this new Pixar entertainment experience as justification to remove Lion King or some other existing attraction.

well to be fair that wall will be covered very soon and they probably knew that when they built frozen land. sucks for now though

Off topic but that view of the unfinished Frozen rockwork is inexcusable.
Not the most egregious sightline issue. It will be covered up in a couple of years with the expansion. Inexcusable would be Shanghai Tron where you can see the boxy show building from the ground level of Toy Story. Universal Japan walking towards the exit gift shop and restrooms of Forbidden Journey, you can see where the Hogwarts castle facade ends and the rest of the grey show building extending towards backstage. At least with HK, there was tall foliage before expansion construction that blocked the green show building from view on the ground.

Shanghai I don’t mind because they explicitly designed Shanghai to not “waste money” hiding show buildings or decorate queues because “culturally” (as far as I know from an old book about the planning of Shanghai that might be wrong) Shanghai guests don’t care about those things. They aren’t broken sightlines per say because they simply don’t matter to the relevant guest demographic

That’s sounds like great PR spin.

Off topic but a company just publicized that they used their proprietary product in HKDL to turn transparent materials such as the glass of the Victorian Collection shop on Center St and the windows of Main St USA into projector visible surfaces. The product allow glass to remain fully transparent but would reflect images if shined from certain angles. Maybe this is why the projectors are mounted on lifts above the buildings to allow the light to strike the surface at an angle instead of being installed in the windows like Disneyland.

Well nobody cared about sight line issues before Disneyland perfected it…

So they replaced all the glass? Or painted the material over the glass?

Y'all... HKDL is debuting some collectible cards for Magic Access passholders which is themed to past experiences that are extinct now at HKDL, and one of them is PTN... I don't think thats returning soon..
