HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

Found a video of a takeoff that overlooked HKDL and took some screenshots of the construction plots. Both plots have had their grounds cleared in preparation for construction. The Pixar plot seems to be further along with yellow construction fencing built along the backstage access roads and possibly a few pieces of heavy construction equipment (very hard to tell from so far but looks like 2 excavators).View attachment 874227View attachment 874228
I think I saw a post talking about a sighting of a small crane truck in the Marvel expansion area. Maybe they are testing the height? Not sure.

Still waiting to know literally anything about what this actually is

Hopefully at destination 23
Schedule for Destination D23 has been released and they have omitted the dedicated parks panel this year. I think what they are going to do is sprinkle in parks news in respective panels, ie. villains land news in the villains panel (45 minutes) on Sunday and news about HK and SH in the “Disney Around the World: China” panel (5 minutes).

Hopefully new concept art for Spiderman for HKDL and SHDL.

From Threads, a clear photo of the construction activity for Pixar.

This has just opened in Shanghai Disneyland, where they've previously had Launch Bay and an Avatar Walk-through. Wonder if Hong Kong will take any inspiration from it

This is really interesting! They should really do something like this but perhaps a little more bigger.

Isn’t that installation at Shanghai temporary? The one in HK is permanent so I’m assuming they will do a little bit more

Shanghai just feels like they are throwing some random stuff at big gaps they have in their expansion pads whereas HK has space limitations

It could be the Pixar version of the D&F playhouse, seems temporary but kind of permanent. The size of the land is around 3x of playhouse. If they can do a bigger walkthrough than the Shanghai one with more Pixar IP, interactive features and
meet & greet, I think it is a good extension to TSL. The land may be enough for a dark ride. But rather than getting a single IP mini land or expand TSL with Toy Story Mania, having more IP in the park maybe better for merchandise selling. The cost shouldn't be too high and they can go for the dark ride option anytime they want to in the future.

Maybe adding this Pixar Entertainment area could be a sign that they might be removing a different attraction? Add 1 attraction to subtract 1 of the same likeness to balance out the offerings.

I just think it’ll be more than that because it’s one of only two easily accessible expansion pads the park has left

After they use this one they have one more big pad (east of grizzly). After that future expansion has to be a second gate but you can’t do a second gate piecemeal. Does HK really have the space to be filling its very limited expansion pads with temporary filler (I know duffy’s playhouse is arguably the parks busiest attraction but everyone knows it’s temporary)
