Think about this.....

SW Battlefront 2 is not only highly regarded by fans, but also the best selling SW game of all time. Fans want a sequel. Yet developers have no interest.
Publisher has no interest*

Also even if they announced a Battlefront 3 no one should expect the same amount of content as 2 with more from the jump. They also shouldn’t expect the game to be as player friendly as 2 currently is.

I know they aren't obligated. But the one thing that could be a thorn in Disneys side is their mouth. It doesn't matter if they can get rid of the character whenever they want. You still need to be consistent. And they did publicly shame her for her comments and said that's why she's no longer there. Even that might not be enough though. But when they didn't axe Pedro for the same thing, now you've opened yourself up for trouble.

If they just played out season two, ignored the beep bop boop and her tweets. Then wrote her out of season 3, no harm. This moving to discovery shows that there is something to look at. Will it amount to anything? I'm not sure. I personally think it should.
In hindsight this comment held up particularly well.

Good for her. She said nothing wrong and was wrongfully persecuted for it by her employer while her employer turned a blind eye to other employees who said things much worse.

Personally I would like to see a formal public apology from Kennedy and her entire team so as to fully explain how they were in the wrong and will do better moving forward.

Is it really?

You can say it’s fair because other parties said really stupid things and that she shouldn’t be told not to have an opinion…

…but she said really stupid things.

Legally I agree she deserved to win…but truth and law aren’t the same. She’s an idiot too…just not the only one. That’s the truth

We're talking about people that pretend to be something other than themselves for money, some much better than others. I didn't see the actors that played Temu Ironman or a more grown up Rue with Force powers dismissed by Disney for their public media diatribes.

Yep.

Was supposed to go to trial next month.

Dang. I was hoping she wouldn’t settle and all of Disney’s dirty laundry exposing their very clear bias would be made public through discovery, vindicating everyone that has criticized them…

The vast majority of civil cases are settled and no one will know the details.

I absolutely loved her character in the Mandalorian and it would be great to see her back in that role.

But the terms of the settlement likely require the parties to keep silent about the agreement and she doesn’t seem to be the type to do so.

My best guess is she’ll say something she shouldn’t and we won’t see her again 😢

They shouldn’t discriminate based on personal opinions - within decorum - especially when it’s being thrown back and forth like slings and arrows by the management as well.

LFL is horribly run…they’ve fried the golden goose. Not breaking news…

However…the comments were stupidity spun from the weird corners of the twitterverse and for sale clowns on the talking picture panel…tin foil stuff.

So that isn’t something to get behind. It’s not a “two sides” thing…it’s abstractly dumb.
I will not encourage the habits of my fellow sapiens that collectively lead to a populace of nitwits. Except repeated trips to Disney parks…I’m all down with that 🤪

Personally…I liked her character alot so it’s a loss…however they’ve kinda jumped the shark with Mandolorian as is…so does it really matter?

Except they can discriminate based on personal opinions.

There is no federal law that protects speech of employees from their employer. Federal laws only protect citizens political speech from the government with some additional protection for federal employees from discrimination based on political affiliation. Of course, that protection only exists if the powers that be choose to actually abide by and enforce those laws.

Now I know California has some additional state level laws that could come into play here, but my guess is this was settled largely for the same reasons as all the other recent settlements in media, Disney would rather pay money than bring any unwanted attention from DC.

Except legally, in most cases, a company can do that.

We might think it is wrong or might think a company is being a hypocrite but I can walk into the office right now and fire every last person I want based on nearly any of their views, including political and there is NOTHING they can do about it.

I think her argument was also that her male coworkers who expressed strong political opinions were treated more favorably. Of course those opinions were a different political bent so it’s not a perfect argument.
