Where would the strawberries come from? It's not even June yet, so I'm guessing maybe Florida or California?
Strawberry's have already completed the First Pick. Currently awaiting ripening of Pick Two here. Winter here doesn't last for 10 months. I started seeing some red berrys early in March. We have had a lot of rain this spring, so we should have some heavy Watermelons, and a great crop of Tobaccy, Sweet Potatoes, Okra and Cotton. And as usual there will be an abundance of Sweet Tea. (Why everyone down here isn't a Diabetic is a mystery to me.)

They're from just south of me and I got enough to make a batch of strawberry rhubarb jam and a pie:joyfull:
Leave out the Rhubarb and send some to me. Just kidding, my daughter makes a big batch of Strawberry Preserves, sans rhubarb! Her husband is a type 2 diabetic so it is only the three of us Me, her and my grandson that actually eat it and so far it works out that by the time that spring arrives and she makes more, we are just about running out. Perfect timing.

I think you mean Type 2. Type 2 is the kind you develop. Type 1 is the kind that is actually an autoimmune condition and you can't do anything to prevent.

Interestingly, Thomas Jefferson's wife, Martha, likely had Type 1 Diabetes, which is what eventually killed her, as did her younger surviving daughter, Mary. Her daughter Martha did not have it.

No, I don't know why this random information is floating around in my brain...

Obesity which is an epidemic here in the USA is what’s driving the diabetes rates. WV, AR, MS, and AL not surprising has approx 40 % of their population , obese.

Well Minnie , when a mummy strawberry plant and a daddy strawberry plant love each other very much .....
Too bad you had to let out that secret:joyfull:. That is how some of the other plants came from also;).

My parents used to have a small garden in the backyard and one of the things my parents used to grow when my younger brother and I were growing up was strawberries. My dad had hoses on timers to water the plants we had at the time.
