Rumor MK Space Mountain REVISED in 2026? (One track? side-by-side seating?)

I don't disagree but there is also a big drawback to the single wide seating. Not that this is a typical first coaster for a kid but, kids riding space mountain for the first time probably want to sit next to there parents or an older sibling and not feel alone. I know I did the first time I rode space as a kid, I was kinda scared to sit by myself not knowing what to expect.
my wife was more scared than our kid. Our almost 6 year old rode it in March for the first time and loved it
Also loved Cosmic Rewind

Imagine the amount of LL passes one could sell due to reduced capacity. The refurb will pay for itself.
A single track refurb would not reduce capacity. It could actually increase capacity a little. The other space mountains have a single track with double wide seating to make up for the capacity of having two coasters. With one ride track you could increase the length of track and therefore increase ride time and capacity. Win-win!!

We're in the middle of our vacation right now. Did 2 days in MK and rode it twice. Besides the outdated bobsled cars, the general lack of any care to the space show scenes (weak lighting and projections) and lack of trying to hide any of the distractions from the track maintenance lighting was very disappointing. The whole ride feels tired. It just needs a full overhaul in general.

Everything you describe, to me, is retro charm. When you’re next to TRON, you need to be a little janky. The vibes are

I saw the amount Tokyo is spending to redo theirs and I’m thinking is Disney willing to spend that much in the states for this ride ?

I think it's more likely that Space Mountain gets bulldozed and rebuilt than people would like to admit.
I doubt it. Cosmic Rewind cost around the same as that Space Mountain figure, but I just don't think they would see any purpose in doing this as it makes no sense whatsoever. Even under Disney's logic. This isn't the OLC. If they want a new experience in there then they can just gut the inside and even redress the exterior.

There are also a number of complications if they tried to bulldoze WDW's that don't affect Tokyo to the same degree. In particular, WDW's Space is MASSIVELY larger, double that of the versions at either CA or Tokyo (and nearly double Paris too). Good chance the thing is sturdier as well given its size and such. Just tearing the thing down would likely be very costly.

WDW also has a Peoplemover that travels directly through the middle of Space, with the dome also housing the vehicle storage area too. So if they demolish Space, there's a very significant chance the Peoplemover would be removed as well.

I feel like that's been the plan all along, since they made the decision to plop Tron next to it which I could never figure out. Im sure TDO would love to get rid of the peoplemover at the same time, they want to operate as little as they can and only focus on the big boys where they can make money off LL. :banghead:
