HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

There’s nothing “wrong” with HKs mountain. Just there’s more impressive ones.

I’d rather any money went to increasing capacity by adding new impressive attractions elsewhere. They don’t have the luxury (yet) of just overhauling or replacing existing infrastructure (the castle project was a means to an end)
Yeah, I get that. I must sheepishly admit that, other than the Paris version, Space Mountain is not one of my favourite rides and I kind of don't understand why it is so beloved beyond than the iconic design of the building. There was something about the Hong Kong version, though, that felt particularly underwhelming and kind of hokey to me. Again, that may just be me!

I believe they won't be rebuilding/redesigning Hyperspace Mountain anytime soon as it's one of the most popular rides for visitors. The queue is really bad and its so worn out since it's (the overlay's) debut in 2017. Perhaps a new story for the ride is what they meant?
It could well be the queue that really left me feeling quite down on Space Mountain at HKDL. My honest impression was that the Star Wars overlay looked more like the efforts at theming from a small regional theme park (or the ones I remember as a kid from the Gold Coast in Australia) than a Disney park. It also doesn't have quite the build up of the Disneyland and Magic Kingdom versions as you basically just have a switchback at ground level than a relatively short inside tunnel to the loading area.

Oh no, apparently they are removing the X-Wing from the queue of HSM. I asked cast members who work at HSM and they all confirmed it. One even said that it might not return...

Paris is more beloved because of its original de la Terre a la lune (from the earth to the moon) theme which which both incredibly well done and perfectly on theme with the Jules Verne discoveryland

Any overlay since is a pale imitation of the original

I’m not necessarily against this. If they removed HSM then reimagined space into something marvel similar to what Paris did to R&RC it would definitely round out the expanded marvel campus

The wider Tomorrowland already doesn’t have a cohesive theme

From a FB post, there is now a wall around where the X-Wing is.

Yes
“International parks and experiences operating income declined 23% in Q2 compared to the prior-year quarter driven by lower results at Shanghai and Hong Kong reflecting the softness we are continuing to see in China”

That’s quite worrying…
Will the park turn to loss again after just one year of profit?

I don't think it would be too shocking they couldn't maintain the growth they got from the opening of Zootopia and Frozen in Shanghai and Hong Kong respectively.

Don't confuse less profit with net loss.

Yes
That is operating income though

HK doesn’t have much of a cushion for lower operating income nor does it want to “stabilise” at like 0 profit or loss
That’s why they rlly shd consider building Downtown Disney alongside Park Promenade. Rents can be another source of income for them too.

As someone else said they are up against tough comparisons with the opening of Frozen and I also expect some guests will be delaying trips until the anniversary starts?
