MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaah, Harry Potter Land really did a lot of damage to the Disney theme parks, didn't it?

They'll probably just learn all the wrong lessons from it, like they did from Harry Potter Land.

We really need to make sure Elio does decently at the box office. I think that's the only way we'll see any investment in Tomorrowland.

At this point, I'm not sure I WANT to see Magic Kingdom get anything new, at least until Iger and his cronies are shown the door.

Hmmm... let's say, hypothetically, they decided to replace the Tomorrowland Speedway with an Alice in Wonderland dark ride. If the entire attraction is indoors, and assuming there isn't enough room for a new attraction on the Fantasyland side AND a new attraction on the Tomorrowland side, the front of the attraction - the entryway in Fantasyland - could be themed to... I dunno, some sort of English countryside-ish building, and the back of the attraction facing Tomorrowland could look like a building from a science fiction movie. I feel like they could pull it off?

I think the Jungle Cruise just needs a refresh, not a replacement. And I especially do not want it replaced with a Moana ride like they're doing in Tokyo. Honestly, I'd rather have Moana in the Tiki Room than as a Jungle Cruise replacement.

Was there a Fire Mountain movie? Are you referring to Atlantis? I know there was a pitch to have Fire Mountain be based on that at some point...

And on Bob Iger's car payment, too, most likely.

Not only that Harry Potter Land worked. But that Universal could do pretty much the same thing 3x in different parks in the same city and its still omega popular each time.

Jungle Cruise is one of my favorite attractions ... That I said I would understand why there could be benefits to using all that space for something else and agree with you - if the one at Disneyland stays and what they replace it with us good, then so be it

But Disneyland’s doesn’t have the temple!

I don’t want all the parks to be carbon copies - but I want the structure to be the same.

Does a park need a jungle cruise and a splash /Tiana? No because Paris doesn’t and it certainly counts. But Paris has other charming additions that MK and Tokyo don’t…. Like Casey jr. And Storybook.

I am concerned that Tokyo also seems to be on board with taking a classic element and replacing with modern IP.

Oh they could absolutely do it -- they've themed attractions on all sides before (like the nearby Seven Dwarfs Mine Train). It's really about whether they're willing to.

I personally would be completely on board with replacing Jungle Cruise; I don't think it's a good attraction and they could add so much (probably multiple rides, dining, and shopping) in its footprint. I'd want the one at Disneyland to remain as Walt's attraction, but would happily dump the MK version (assuming the replacement was actually good -- certainly not anything related to the Incredibles).

The artwork seems to imply jungle cruise, treehouse, and tiki room would go away. Railroad is also not seen in the artwork.

As much as I love the classic Disney rides, I do think it’s important to note that Japan has a different, unique culture, and if proposed changes are in keeping with that, I’m ok with it. I’d be curious to hear people from Japan weigh in on those possible changes. I think I remember seeing in a Disney documentary that Japan’s relationship with Disney really is more about the IP, which I think is reflected in their amazing hotels and theming.

In the US, the larger than life image of Walt, the Americana, the nostalgic rides have a very deep significance, and I worry that this could be lost in search of “the new hotness”. It’s a bit cliche to say that more and more, we live in a disposable culture, but I think it’s true. There’s value in what’s classic and iconic, not just what’s flashy and new.

No chance. JC is a full experience with ride while ROA just is a lesser version of the ferry already found to the park.

As I mentioned above, there are major differences between the two.

Rivers of America is a fundamental part of the park design; two lands rely on it as part of their organizational structure. Jungle Cruise is just a ride. It has very little effect on Adventureland itself and none whatsoever outside of Adventureland.
