THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE!

All joking aside. What video did I make that this is all supposedly about?

Was just defending the OP's decision to skip Disney, and suddenly there's a mystery video afoot... 😵‍💫

Not our departure day, but the day when I am going to Orlando and NOT visiting Disney World!!😢 I knew this day was coming for a few years. I am a former Cast Member and my time working for The DIsney Company has been the highlight of MY LIFE! It was incredible! But in recent years thins have been going downhill. From price hikes to bad decisions for park overhauls to VERY BAD decisions for new additions to the parks. Animal Kingdom getting the Tropical Americas, replacing Dino Land USA. and The Magic Kingdom REPLACING The Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island for a CARS area! Yes a cartoon IP area with only 2 attractions and a few shops for food and merchandise. RoA and TSI have been opening day attractions. A ride on the Riverboat was a nice relaxing break from the hot pavement, standing in long lines', just a place where you know you could relax for a few minutes and take in the scenery of BTMR, TSI and the HM. it is because of these and many other RIDICULOUS decisions that I have finally decided that NOW is the time to say NO to going to Disney and Yes to Universal. My next trip is NOT going to include ANTYTHING Disney. Someone has got to start the ball rolling of saying NO to Disney and it might as well be me! I hope some of you who feel similar will start to say NO MORE DISNEY when you plan your trip to Orlando. There is sooo much to do other than the parks and the prices are much lower than the parks!
Thanks for listening and allowing me to vent my opinion!! If you feel differently and think Disney is a good value and experience for you, I'm happy for you and wish you well. But as for me, I have come to my breaking point. Goodbye Disney. 😢
I understand completely. After over 30 trips between 1996 and 2018, I reached my breaking point. We have not been back and I have no desire to go back. There's a big world out there where I can get more for my money.

On my orlando visit in 5ish weeks...I'm doing 3 nights at Universal, 2 nights at a Disney hotel; but only going to a Disney Park 1 day vs 4 days in a Universal park. The lack of new attractions at WDW (AND OBVIOUSLY EPIC!), make me want to do a more Universal themed trip - while finally also getting to VB for the first time, 2 days at Epic.

But, even my love for Disney couldn't keep me entirely away as I needed to do 1 day in the parks (will hop Epcot to HS), and got a great price on AKL for the hotel to wake up with some animals those 2 mornings.

Best of both world's, but clearly what the people at Universal/Comcast are looking for.

I've done quite a few fun non-WDW Orlando trips over the years. My very first WDW visits were a combo of WDW and other FL attractions back when WDW was just MK.

WDW swayed me for about a decade with Magic-Your-Way, MDE, and Universal's customer service lagged considerably behind WDW.

For me, one of the things I treasured about WDW was all the times CM's delivered excellent customer service. The Disney CM's often shared their enthusiasm with me in casual conversations.

CM's still work hard, but much of the enthusiasm they express now sounds like it has been forced upon them, like when a CM says, "perfect" in situations where the word doesn't quite fit.

Meanwhile, Universal's employees now regularly express enthusiastic customer service that feels natural and genuine.

And now they are RUINING MAGIC KINGDOM by destroying that Liberty Square and Frontier lands by demolitioning Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island...which is a HUGE MISTAKE!!!! to add a CARS themed area with off-road racers that DO NOT BELONG IN THE MAGIC KINGDOM! The MAGIC KINGDOM is for Dreams, Wishes, Fantasy and MAGIC...CARS Off-Road Racers does not bring any dreams, wishes, fantasy or magic to the park...IT DESTROYS IT! If they don't listen to the guests NOW, in a few years they will be tearing the CARS area down!

FOR GOD'S SAKE DISNEY EXECUTIVES...LISTEN TO YOUR GUESTS!!! I don't know who thought that taking out the RoA and TSI was a good idea! Whoever that was, they should be fired! It all comes down to one question that matters..."If Walt was still here, would he do the same?" I am not against putting in CARS Off-Road Racers, but it is more suited for DHS! I hope they stop this before its started beyond stopping!

If Bob Iger hadn’t appointed his own board….he would have been fired 18 months ago

I don’t know. From the concept art it looks like Cars Land will have rocks, waterfalls, etc. that will make it fit in. It will be nice to have some added ride capacity in MK.

It may be a good ride/effort…but it won’t “fit in”

1950s desert is not thematically conducive to Liberty square and frontier land

We need to stop giving bad management credit for bad ideas. Even if the execution is good…the idea is cheap and contrary to the design of Disney parks

I was just in California adventure…any guess why it works there? 🤔

Not everyone thinks they are ruining MK

If Disney wants to cash in on the discontent, they should start offering "Last Visit Tours."

Organize them based on the last year a family visited (Last Visit 2018, for example) and just waltz the tour group into the various parks and the rides and attractions that have been added or refurbished/overlaid since then.

They could charge $400 per person, throw in a QS meal, a popcorn bucket and a special pin (Mickey waving "bye!").

Oh, and they could still require the tour guests to purchase a one-day park hopper for theme park admittance.

…I see no mention of cupcakes…
