News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

To continue on topic, some years ago on this forum I was talking on another thread and it was mentioned that COVID had nuked a bunch of Disney investment in the parks. Then revenge travel kicked in and the whole
family from Denver comment and reservations and surrounding situation… But with all of that gone, and especially with a new park from Uni, it wouldn’t be good for Disney if they don’t expand or innovate too much in the parks, specially after all the announcements. Not that Bob would care, but Dana might (maybe not Dana but PLEASE NOT JOSH!!)

Nobody has said anything’s been cancelled, have they?

We’re speculating about how the current world economic situation might affect their plans.
Many have said this will be an excuse to cancel things, including spending the money at all even on things that haven’t been revealed. Searching this thread + “cancel” yields over 100 resultant posts.

Yes it’s a Disney rumor board !!

A rumor is an unverified piece of information that is spread by word of mouth. Rumors are often a mix of truth and falsehood

I doubt even Iger himself knows for 100% certain what is going to happen.

It’s fun to speculate what the future holds!

What unannounced projects are people speculating have been cancelled?
I literally never said the word “project”. I just said people were speculating that over half the proposed funding (which we can assume was allocated to currently unrevealed things) would be taken off the table.

I wasn’t trying to criticize what anyone was saying, just pointing out that things that will get the axe will likely be things we haven’t heard about yet. Reading back, maybe I worded that poorly.

Yes. Speculating that things might get cancelled and, if they do, which one. And many hoping that the trashing of RoA is one of them.

No one has said “I heard that Monsters is cancelled”.

It’s a discussion. On a fan forum. No one so far has gone beyond speculation.

Except for Cars (for my own personal reasons), I hope work on everything in WDW starts ASAP, get the walls up and get going!

2025, 2026, 2027 is the perfect time to work on this stuff.

Disney can then blame the plummeting revenue and attendance in WDW on the construction and not the real cause which will be EPIC.
