How can we do a "renovation" on the cheap and add something to make some extra money in the process?

It seems pretty clear this renovation rendering is a direct result of guest feedback and complaints. The overall warm themes are staying, the chandeliers are staying, the live piano entertainment is staying, and the new greenery does make it feel a little more upscale, imo so a win is a win.

No one is forcing any of you to go to the bar, and it's not serving any purpose now, so who cares?

Hm.. idk. Bar looks awful but the rest could be ok? I just don't get how this will take at least 8 months - or long enough for the gingerbread house to not happen. From the looks of it, it's just new paint and carpet - should only take a few months max, and then they could put smaller walls up around the bar area, no?

This could have been a lot worse. I still think the carpet is a downgrade but again it could have been worse. They are at least paying lip service to the feedback they’ve been getting from ruining their other resorts.

I don’t what’s near it, but a bar will require sinks, etc. There may be a whole plumbing project.

My understanding is that it is a labor and parts shortage issue.

They would have to get one of the 3 people building the Woody's Lunch Box Covered Seating Area and divert him to the GF. They also would likely need to work out a ladder and paint sharing plan to switch out between the sites daily.

Also Buying already developed Palm Trees is expensive. As part of a cost cutting initiative they are growing everything in house and on location directly from seeds.

I really enjoy the idea here overall. This is a MUCH better version than what I think most feared. Putting a bar in the middle of what can often be the most cluster-f of a lobby is a bit concerning (from a traffic flow standpoint - not idea standpoint). I do hope the birdcage finds a new home at the property. While I would hate for it to go beyond a paywall of sorts, even a home in the less crowded DVC Villas lobby would be OK.

I wish it would go outside of "Enchanted" Rose along with a realignment of that furniture to fit with the new lobby. But, I don't think the ceiling is tall enough there. That could make for a lovely spot, and one likely to be highly visited by the influencers for the "birdcage shot".

Don’t like the bar but understand they are absolutely going to kill it there with all the foot traffic that lobby receives. Otherwise I have no complaints.
