I think that might be a bit extreme to describe their current plans. But I do agree that it might be a tad too much too fast.Exactly…
So “bad management 101”says to recklessly exploit the living CRAP out of it

The list of companies that fit this description is long, but distinguishedI’m concerned by the lack of empathy for the prospects of a multibillion dollar conglomerate that has left itself exposed from exploiting third world countries for their cheap goods while increasingly catering to the top 3% of the U.S.
The reason they can sell those ships at their prices (besides the dust they pump through the hvac onboard) is because they have had a very limited amount of supply.I think that might be a bit extreme to describe their current plans. But I do agree that it might be a tad too much too fast.
The following projects are at least guaranteed completion: new Test Track, Tropical Americas, Zootopia Together (3D Movie should be easy to implement), stages at DHS, DVC Fort Wilderness Tower, and renovated Big Thunder. I can't see them canceling the Buzz Lightyear update, which seems cheap and easy. Villians Land and Tom Sawyer are questionable.By the way, if I’m Disney, I absolutely shut down any project that isn’t Tropical Americas right now. Full stop. If I’m Universal, I do the same.
Disney should be relentlessly criticized for not building when times were good. But now… this isn’t on them.
At DHS if grand avenue does its phased closing in May thats a sign Monsters is still on as well. The following projects are at least guaranteed completion: new Test Track, Tropical Americas, Zootopia Together (3D Movie should be easy to implement), stages at DHS, DVC Fort Wilderness Tower, and renovated Big Thunder. Villains sounds like it would be a lucrative land that could draw people back once the economy bounces back in the 2029-2030 timeframe. If there is no mention of it at DD23 2025, then I think we could assume its toast. So from the last ten pages: I've seen people say Universal is doomed because they wanted to build too much and Disney will win the war because they have no shovels in the ground outside of DAK. Yeah, sure, what the heck. Disappointed I won't get my Creature boat ride but, whatever. At least I got Berk so HAH!
If you ask me, anything under construction is safe (outside of maybeeeeee Indiana Jones depending how Disney wants to play THAT), Muppets is going no matter what because that's an extra cost and if they wanna penny pinch they'll cut it, RoA is so doomed I can't even tell how doomed it is. Either they pave paradise and put up a parking lot (for Owen Wilson) or just drain it, put walls up, call it a job well done and go on.
If Muppets goes, I don't see a good reason why they wouldn't turn it into a 3D film for Monsters. Door Coaster looks pretty cut and dry too. I think that's relatively safe, especially for a park that needs more stuff to do.
I see Cars happening more than Villains at this point, but the construction for ROA to turn it into more walkable theme park space would almost definitely require a lot of raw material that'll be increasing in price over the next few months. So I genuinely wouldn't be shocked if they call that off. Anything with AC is probably called off in this scenario too, barring hypothetical Australian Dog Cheap Take Over plans.
They can spin Dinosaur as a "we listened, dinosaur is here to stay blah blah" or they'll slap in some cloned Indy AAs into Dinosaur for extra fun. Wouldn't mind that. Dinosaur is likely less costly to maintain in the long run than a giant man-made body of water. MK also has a fair bit of stuff already, I don't think they'd close Dinosaur if they weren't extremely confident a replacement was 100% happening due to how little DAK has.
If I was a Disney exec, wanted positive additions for the park, but didn't want to actually build anything, I'd just plus up some rides that need it. I hear there's a ride or two in EPCOT that could use it that'd make the tourists happy...

Good ideas never truly die at Disney. Someday a Villains land will come to fruition.Maybe they can relocate the plans to somewhere else?
The site work isn’t what’s going to use a lot imported products. It’s going to be a lot of dirt, and they’ll even be digging some out for the new ponds and canals. Disney and Universal’s big problem is that they use a variety of components sourced from around the world. The best ride systems aren’t really made in the US. There’s a good chance the Cars Ride is going to come from Canada. The Monsters Inc coaster is coming from the Netherlands. Even further out the Villains coaster will also most likely be from Europe. Then just base building materials are sourced from all over the world.I see Cars happening more than Villains at this point, but the construction for ROA to turn it into more walkable theme park space would almost definitely require a lot of raw material that'll be increasing in price over the next few months. Awesome
In that case why not leave both alone until they’re ready to start?Or they just dock the Riverboat, close Tom Sawyers Island and leave both sitting there for a year or two before starting.

EPIC is going to be mobbed when it opens because it’s new. This is their game to lose; if they can handle the mobs and operate the park with little or no issues, it will be a big win for the company. You’ve really conflated what was being said. Everyone’s about to lose. Opening new product into a rapidly deepening economic crisis further exposes one to those loses.
It most certainly doesn’t turn Disney into a winner.
A recent study said 45% of American families take on debt to go to WDW. Disney is not only with ones that are wealthy to enjoy . Epic should be no different.EPIC is going to be mobbed when it opens because it’s new. There is no economic crisis for folks with money and the folks with money are the only ones who can afford these theme parks these days.
There are folks who say the world is going to end (or want) the world to end because of (you know who) but it ain’t going to happen. Folks may also think of it in another way, the would is ending so we might as well go on one last vacation.
WDW will be fine in any event as always. In their panic guests may just get some perks back right now that will eventually be taken away again in the long run.
