There is a faux Beatles band called Rain. They dress the part of every different era of the Beatles. They even have a left handed Bass player playing the Paul part. They are great and the best you can get without it being the real Beatles. They show up around the Raleigh/Durham area quite often and I try to get to them for each show. As far as I can tell they tour the country constantly. Although I will admit that most of the audience is my age (ancient) but there are young people there for the show. Once you look over the bald or gray haired there are a lot of them.

I saw The Rolling Stones in Dallas in the Cotton Bowl in 1981.
The opening bands were The Fabulous Thunderbirds and ZZ Top. It was amazing all the way around, and Jagger was being swung over us in a cherry picker (we were that close to the stage, standing on the field) during “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”…!!!!! :hilarious:
We made our way up to Dallas to see them, mostly because we thought it would probably be their last tour…!!!!! 🤣
I could write a short story about this whole trip, based on things like using the Banditos for “security”, drugs being pedaled, so many wasted people everywhere, the drive to and from, etc….!!!!! 😂
Mick Jagger probably hasn’t gained a pound in over 60 years of singing. At age 81 he looks fantastic . His 37 year old girlfriend maybe help keeps him young.

I got 7 books (two are preorders), which were 20% off, some cleaning stuff I needed, and then I earned $50 in rewards, and so I got a bunch of grocery items, which were delivered because I took advantage of the $24 Circle plus membership for the year, and I used my $50 circle rewards and now somehow I have another $10 in rewards. What a great week. 🙃

you mean Target Circle 360? I can only get that for 50 a year lol.

Not target, but you mentioned books. I got the entire 13 book collection of the Lemony Snickets last night on Kindle for 20 Euros instead of 200. I'm happy!

For school, E was required to do a cultural program where a few times a year, they had to go to a professional performance of some kind and write a report on it. It could be theater, dance, music, but it had to be professionals doing it, not just a high school play or something. For her music one, she went to "The British Experience" which was a bunch of cover bands of English bands, like the Beatles. She had a lot of fun, but she said it was like, her and a couple friends, and then a bunch of 60 year olds. She said there was no one in between.

My house did not burn down, nothing actually caught fire. Yesterday James' coffee maker, heated up all by itself, and seemed to short out. I caught it quickly thank goodness, anyhoo going to try and find the box and receipt because it may be less than a year old:eek::cry: It was a rather cheap, no name one so I'll replace it with a better one. Poor kid his first grown up appliance goes quickly:mad::mad::mad:

I love Beatles and of course Elvis impersonators. Nothing can match the magical music of the King but the impersonators I’ve watched are very good.

I usually buy Kindle copies, but I got a bunch of good hardbacks. I got the entire Fourth Wing series (I have Onyx Storm on Kindle too...oh well, lol). I got Lessons in Chemistry and the latest Hunger Games book. Then I preordered the latest Emily Henry book and Abby Jimenez book. Emily Henry is one of my favorite authors, so I always preorder her books and did a hardcover of her last one. Hunger Games I own the entire series and had to add the latest one.

Sadly, I also ordered refills of the Dawn Power wash, and one of them leaked. My initial order of books was damaged except for the first Fourth Wing book. Target ended up sending us replacements and didn't make us return the first set. We're going to donate them to the library to see if they can use them. I think at least Iron Flame they can use. Obviously, if I paid good money for them, I want the books undamaged, but library books get wear and tear, so they might be in acceptable condition for them. Have to see.

I love Abby Jimenez’s books. I like that some have been set in Minneapolis/St.Paul and I recognize some of the actual places. I read in Emily Henry book and I wasn’t that thrilled but I’ve been thinking of giving ber another chance. I wish I could remember which one I read so I don’t reread that one.

I wonder why it would do that!! That's so scary. And sad. Was he upset about it?

I do like Abby Jimenez. I like that her books are all interconnected. So a random character from one book pops up in another.

Funny Story by Emily Henry was great. That was her latest one. Book Lovers was great; that was the first one of hers I read. I also loved Happy Place. People We Meet on Vacation and Beach Read were good, but not as good as the others. She's got others I haven't read. I stick to her adult women's fiction. Books Lovers and Funny Story are probably my top two of hers.
