Epcot & HS with 1.5 year old

We went last year when our daughter was 14 MO. DHS was great - she loved meeting the characters. We focused on that, rather than rides.

Half of theme-park visitors ages 25-49 come without kids

As much as I hate being run over by scooters, and the folks who don't fold their strollers until the moment they step onto the bus, families are just part of the Disney experience. As the song goes, everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people . . . when I visit the World with my...

    October 2012 Roll Call

Visiting the World from 10/28-11/4, staying at Kidani. No MNSSHP, but attending 2 F&W seminars.

Half of theme-park visitors ages 25-49 come without kids

baymenxpac, I completely understand where you're coming from. During our DVC-HHI trip in May, the noise from the pool during their afternoon music/trivia/games really did not provide for a relaxing afternoon. I just don't see a point to the pool party every single day. Twice a week or so...

Details released for the 2012 Food and Wine Festival 'Special Experiences'

Did anyone else notice that the "Special Experiences" guide that was posted today only shows the Culinary Demos as happening on Saturdays and Sundays? Are they not going to be daily anymore? The mixology and wine/beverage seminars still are listed as daily events. Anyone have any info on this?

Gluten Free at Food & Wine

Thanks so much for the tips. Since we're going towards the end of the festival, I'll probably re-post in October to see if anyone has any feedback at that point.

Gluten Free at Food & Wine

I've seen so many great websites and threads discussing gluten-free dining at WDW. However, my family will be at the World in Oct/Nov for the Food & Wine festival, and there's very little information on whether the food booths accommodate food allergies, specifically those with celiac disease...

    WL vs SSR

Thank you! Just b/c SSR isn't "in your face" doesn't mean it's boring. It's for folks who want a traditional resort experience. And I still wouldn't trade the convenience of a kitchenette or kitchen to stay in a standard room. With young kids, and needing to return to the resort for naptime...

    WL vs SSR

I'm in the minority here - DH and I had an unsatisfactory experience at WL, and there won't be a return visit from us. Also, don't you still have to head over to FW on some of the bus routes? We loved SSL, but stayed near the first bus stop, which is the way to go. It's so quiet there, and...

Uncomfortable question about teen wanting to bring friend

Please make sure your daughter knows how fortunate she is. While my family went to WDW many times during my childhood, we by no means were able to afford to bring anyone outside of our family with us. I had to make do hanging out with my parents and (much) younger sister. It never would have...

    Saratoga Springs

We stayed in the Grandstand at SSR in October of 2010, and would definitely stay there again. We loved being the first off the bus - since we didn't have kids then, we would just let everyone board before us, and cram ourselves into the front. Also, being first on wasn't so bad, as we were...

    MNSSHP 2010 photopass locations

My husband and I will be dressed up. For us, it's part of going to the party. I'd feel out of place not being in costume!

    EPCOT character connection

It's been there for longer than 3 years - it was makeshift (no backgrounds) back in Nov. 2006. It's one of the best spots to get pictures with the Fab Five. If you go during EMH, you'll have a 10-15 minute wait, tops. Last year we saw folks running there at park open, rather than running for...

    Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ?

DH and I are going as hillbillies on 10/14. We don't want to spend $100 apiece on costumes, and definitely want to be comfortable, so that's our easy solution. An option would be to make Halloween t-shirts - I was just at Michael's today, and transfer sheets are roughly 10 for $10. Those are...

I have a Bone to pick

I am not against strollers. I'm not even complaining about getting bumped into by a stroller. I think it's unfair to so many people put a perfectly healthy child who is too big for a stroller into one. Again, as I wrote before, I saw a girl, approaching five feet tall, slumped in a stroller...
