    Tables in Wonderland being discontinued?

Absolutely. The break even point is only $500, and if you favor table service meals and enjoy a glass of wine or two with dinner, you can hit that very quickly. I would hate to see this go away -- the way we eat is well-suited for it, and it saves us a ton of money.

When Would Be A Good Time to Return to Disney Springs?

I've sort of avoided DTD since the whole Disney Springs overhaul was announced because I understood the area to just be a disaster and not really worth the time and effort. At this point, however, it's starting to look like things are coming together, and I'm actually kinda looking forward to...

Disney's Animal Kingdom to test access to The Oasis before park opening

Totally agree with this. The Oasis is a beautiful area, but I have to confess that I have to consciously fight the temptation to rush through it when I enter the park -- and then on my way out, I'm generally eager to just get back to the resort and not inclined to hang out and look at the...

Why Hollywood Studios is being rebuilt

I was wondering recently if I needed to hit Prime Time on a then-upcoming trip or if it would be around for a while, so I just tweeted at Jim Hill and asked him. He was surprisingly forthcoming and provided some interesting info about the reasons for the delay in progress at DHS. Convo here...

Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

I love roller coasters, but when I rode Hulk for the first time earlier this year, I was like, "Uh oh, what have I done?" Was surprised at how intense it was. Then again, I guess that's the point -- I'm just getting old, I suppose, lol.

Armchair Imagineering, May The Fourth Edition

I thought about that, but I have a gut feeling -- and this is just that, a gut feeling -- that the new movies will be set in a lot of these old locations. I know JJ Abrams has made a conscious decision to pay respect to the original trilogy wherever possible, and using familiar locations is an...

Prime Time Cafe on the chopping block?

I thought the question mark would be a dead giveaway that it was a question, not a statement. With that being the case, it's only misleading if you read the title and assume that's what is happening but don't bother to actually read the post. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Prime Time Cafe on the chopping block?

well, I for one hope they find a way to keep it, either there or somewhere else. We've always had servers that really embraced their roles, and it's always been a fun place to eat. Food is decent, but the decor, etc. really makes the place.

Prime Time Cafe on the chopping block?

Obviously, DHS is poised for some significant changes over the next few years, starting any day now. I recall Jim Hill saying at one point a while back that there were just a handful of things that were considered untouchable, and Prime Time was not one of them -- and, it's obviously on the...

Disney's Q2 FY15 Earnings - Increase in WDW attendance and guest spending

"guest spending growth" = magic bands do indeed make it easier to spend money. I know there are those that doubt that, but it has totally been our experience that paying by touching your wrist to a reader makes impulse purchases VERY easy to make. We've definitely spent more per trip than we...

Armchair Imagineering, May The Fourth Edition

Thanks to whomever moved this to this forum, didn't realize there was a forum for this sort of thing.

Armchair Imagineering, May The Fourth Edition

Thought I'd throw this out there for the creative minds on this forum: you are starting a brand new theme park from scratch, based entirely upon Star Wars. Set aside the question of whether it should or will ever happen, and just assume that it is coming down the pike. How would you set it up...

    An interesting read visiting solo...

We try to build a little bit of time to ourselves into each trip, actually. Family trips inevitably requires compromise at just about every turn, and knowing that we'll each have a few hours to do whatever we want without regard to the rest of the family's wishes makes those compromises much...

    Optimal MK Fireworks Spot

We always make sure we see it once per trip "as intended," with the castle as a backdrop, but once we've done that, we love catching the fireworks from Fantasyland. Love the sensation of having the fireworks going off all around you.

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

I had kinda figured this, too. That's the day we arrive, so that's what I was hoping.
