Fantasmic and the Parades are plagued by labor shortages right now. They simply don't have the actors and live show folks to make them functional. Many of the folks who do those shows have moved on to other jobs in Orlando, or they moved home during the pandemic to Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin...
Its because you can park hop there without a reservation. Throughout most of the reservation debacle, Epcot is available except on weekends, and even then you check in the afternoon and there are reservations available. It's the last park anyone currently picks because you go to a different park...
I live literally three minutes away from Walt Disney World and I see what happens there from night to night. Almost all my neighbors work for Disney (I do not). Above and beyond general post hours events, there are a lot of people locally who have normally had annual passes who haven't stepped...
I think you are grossly misestimating the ticket sales for a sold-out night at Boo Bash. MNSSHP has historically been one of their best-selling evening events. Entire families and friends groups book resorts to go specifically for the costume party, and I suspect the same thing has happened for...
While I am not sure exactly when the nighttime shows are coming back, I know that almost all the nighttime staff at all 4 parks have been recalled to work - there is a minimum two week gap between re-onboarding them and actually doing the shows. I think the July 1 estimates to bring the...
I have never seen Universal as packed as it has been the past month -- and the same for SeaWorld (a particular favorite place of mine) -- and part of that is because they don't have any mask rules in place and it has increased the local attendance there specifically because you DON'T need masks...
Just from a locals point of view - I live in a very highly Disney-oriented affluent area about 5 minutes from the parks. Disney's reluctance to remove the indoor mask requirement is absolutely driving business away from the parks until they do -- and with that, it means a lot of money normally...
I know its always sad, but I think people just don't get what's happening at WDW right now. Except for a few rare days, the parks are near-empty. Even with caps, they are getting terrible turnout. The "live shows" that have been added have been pulling in maybe 20-25 people per show...the...
Not to mention that Orange County has no mask rules, so nobody here wears them unless you are inside a grocery store, and then only because they make you wear them. This system won't work at WDW.
Because of the very limited number of guests that will be able to enter you won't get that normal crowding in. Most likely they won't be opening all of the resorts, just the ones that they can best accommodate transportation needs to the parks, with limited bus occupancy and drop off's timed...
