That really does sound exactly like ole Bob "Never Give Guests IR Goggles" Iger. Exactly. I've personally never understood his unwillingness to simply give guests what they want, which is to say: more IR goggles. Hopefully whoever replaces him won't be so stingy with night vision headgear.
There's at least one air-moving fan in the DHS station near the launch, it's been there since they started testing uncovered gondolas. I vaguely remember noticing more in the empty DHS station last weekend, but I wouldn't swear to it.
From Epcot to Magic Kingdom there's been no double screening since April 2017 when most of the MK security checks were moved to the TTC. But they've yet to extend the Epcot security perimeter to include the monorail exit.
This is likely part of the plan, but it's not in effect at the moment. In fact, the current wall situation requires you go to through security just to get from the Epcot bus/monorail to the east parking lots.
I do recall some of the towers peeking up between the pavilions from across the lagoon, visible from France over to Italy. Only noticeable from WS Plaza.
The plot for the Asian resort was taken by the Grand Floridian. The Persian resort was to go north of the Contemporary and would have involved a more complex monorail layout that included a station/entrance in Tomorrowland, similar to Disneyland’s. The site for the Venetian/Mediterranean resort...
Some kind of work has been going on since November/December between the monorail station and ticket booths, supposedly for a new exit bridge although I don't recall seeing any official corroboration. There are some photos in these threads...
