I also think certain aspects of the work were farmed out, such as to Precision Dynamics in San Francisco which has done RFID bracelets for other applications.

I read somewhere that the bands would cost $4.50 per each one, some of the choices here are closer to...
I had plenty of negative things (maybe too many) to say about the Mermaid ride, don't know why you'd think I work for Disney given that.
So if you say that you don't think there will be a major DHS announcement at D23 then you're middle management at Disney?
So if you say you don't think...
It's a legitimate point. I would never visit any theme park with an itinerary. But if you're going to do FastPass, that means coming back at a later time. I'd use the system to save time for RSR, primarily, and if I *had* to go on HMH, then, yes, I would book that in advance for the last day...
Just noticed there isn't a "Happy Birthday Pooh!" scene in Tokyo. Always seemed a bit of gratuitous "hooray for everything!" to me, primarily for little kids who like seeing animals at a birthday party, regardless of the context.
Looks great to me! The 100 Acre Woods, though was obviously a hand-drawn creation in the Disney Pooh films, always seemed like such a three dimensional place, you've got the animal's living abodes, and I think having that LPS Hunny Pots really gives you the sense that you're in a place . . ...
Mermaid goes much slower than other Fantasyland rides, such as Toad, Peter Pan, probably in absolute speed, but probably also in how much time you spend in each scene. You certainly get to spend a lot of time in the "Under the Sea" scene, by the end of the ride I'm ready to jump out and find...
WDW's IT infrastructure may have been overdue for a $50 million dollar upgrade anyway. The number of users notwithstanding, such a system with just FP/MagicBand purchasing/hotel keys, wouldn't be that expensive to implement, and it would displace more expensive systems and reduce the burden on...
So, if you feel you were insulted, then you feel justified in insulting others? At some point, insulting people incurs a psychological price, i.e. your ego takes a bruising as some part of you realizes you shouldn't be doing that.
If an insider, (or somebody with contacts on the inside)...
Staggs does have a vested interest, true, but I don't see why'd he'd blatantly lie about the project. Seems plain ole' common sense that if you give guests a device which makes visting the park fun, and easier to spend money, improves efficiency (no more long lines and customers giving up...
A simple RFID reader costs $29.95. Even if the more expensive ones cost $400 who cares? They could put 100 of them in a single park for $40,000 dollars . . . they were going to put these in supermarkets, no way $1 billion for WDW.

Common sense also says that MagicBands which make spending money easier, and shorter lines at shops, means more stuff sold. There is also increased efficiency and a new way for guests to...
Insults, histrionics, and cliches aside, Staggs already talked about how MagicBands are bringing in more money.
I'm not upset because I'm not emotionally invested in this issue, I just know what I read.
Go ahead and give me a source. I've read financial stuff that says $900 million for NextGen in all the parks, and comments from Disney brass that NextGen is a success.
Here is what I know about the Club 33 expansion (someone in my family is a member):
We were told a while ago that the trophy room was history, would become part of the kitchen.
We would get advance notice when the construction would happen and that the club would remain open for reservations...
Al Lutz is a sort of "Just the Facts" sort of guy, with his own special flare for reporting Disney news. Thanks to him terms like "sharp pencil boys" became part of the lingo.
WDW74 has a different style, such as suggesting that I stand in front of a monorail, or that what folks factually know...
