Of course it was. Adventureland came from the Tru-Life Adventure TV series, Frontierland from Davy Crockett, etc. A lot of these lands appear today not to be based on IP, because those never became long-term, evergreen franchises, but IIRC most of the park was based on IP in one way or another...

Ehrm, there's nothing wrong or unusual with that. In every creative corporation, you always want a myriad of pitches - maybe all with a foundation in a shared vision or strategic goal - so you can get a lot of input early on and see what excites the most and sounds the most promising.

Whatever happened to the rumored Blizzard Beach expansion, with shots of ground work outside of the park perimeter? An optimistic guess could be that they are waiting for the expansion work to start before they do any work on these slides, maybe because they are planning a major overhaul partly...

Good points. Although I don't know how attractive a view the BoardWalk parking lot is :P Buuut probably better than usually completely hidden and ugly backstage :) If the France expansion is located as speculated, that would cover up the worst views from the faster route I drew, wouldn't it though?
