Obviously they're not going anywhere. I never said the island was going to go anywhere. I am simply asking for people's opinion or rumors about what Disney plans to use the island for in the future. It seems a large waste to let such a cool area that was discovered by Walt himself to go to waste...
I agree, they would never move endangered species. However I am not aware of any endangered species that still remain on this island and use it as the primary habitat. It is highly unlikely that they would remain on this one random island in the entire state of Florida with thousands of lakes...
These interactive things are pretty cool. It's just another way to get people away from the long lines and doing activities with their family. It also gives the parents a great opportunity to let their imaginations run free because instead of having to stand in line and listen to wailing...
I like this idea a lot. I think it would be great if they made this Pirates Water Adventure and then had boats to and from Discovery/Treasure Island which could feature a Pirates themed adventure or treasure hunt. That would be amazing!
Actually sounds like an interesting idea...one that would cost a lot of money, but still an interesting idea. I was never able to go to either the island or RC so I would love that!
Obviously it is big enough considering that they had the Discovery Island area on it, which included restrooms, snack bars, and exhibits with lots of extra room. The island is 11.5 acres for goodness sake! Plenty of room for a pirate themed attraction or maybe even the Peter Pan's Neverland idea...
They wanted to cover it up for legal reasons...they got in a large battle with the company who owns the theater and needed a reason to cover it up, so they built the hat. I love the hat, though.
I don't know about that haha. But I can see maybe Epic Mickey Land (although that won't happen considering the sales of EM2) or maybe an Oz themed land! Now that would definitely be cool.
Yeah, they wanted to partner with the creators of the game Myst "to create a cutting-edge interactive experience to be called 'Myst Island'." Development never got past the original design stages, though. I think that would have been cool, but maybe it would be cooler to have an actual Disney...
I agree. People claim that the Chinese Theater is the icon, but it's too unoriginal. The real one still exists in Hollywood! If I want to see it, I'll go to Hollywood. The Carthay Circle in DCA is different because the original no longer exists. I came to Disney to see some Mickey Mouse and...
