Yes, I rode it many times.
It was a nice original concept which is admittedly rare for modern Disney but the ride itself was not that spectacular. Perhaps a slightly better than average dark ride (for its time), but nothing more nothing less. It was filler then and it'd still be filler now. And...
One of the best rides? LOL! You didn't miss much. Seriously. Watch it on youtube.
Anyone who tells you it was one of the best rides has their nostalgia glasses on waaaaaaay too tight.
That's the kind of thing that you can build on for an attraction, better than just retelling the movie in ride form. Endless room to grow with...imagination.
I think this will be Inside Out's take on Imagination rather than just a simulation of the film, which is very promising.

Imagination Land from Inside Out has far more potential as the inspiration for an amazing attraction that still adheres to the imagination theme, and it probably will show even more "imagination" than whatever the current attraction is trying to convey with its lackluster and vague presentation...
By what metric is this not a good move? The ride will be more popular in terms of attendance and satisfaction...it couldn't really get much worse. At the end of the day that's all that matters in determining whether or not it's a good move. So a few people on the internet care about too much IP...

Hallelujah! I love Inside Out and hate the Imagination ride, possibly the worst and most barren ride in the entire park. Whatever replaces it will be MUCH better (yes I rode the original...that was awful too).
It appears the rumor is just that there's a rumor. It's being discussed as a possibility?
Okay then...
If it does happen, I think it's safe to say nearly ten years will have gone by by the time this has been finalized, planned, announced, constructed, and finally opened.
You're right, a little goes a long way. But it's been so long since there was anything new at all, and World Showcase being expanded after 30 years of waiting was so exciting.
And agreed, Imagination has definitely got to go!
Looking at the image again it is very odd that they used both classic and new style Mickey and Minnie. Very very odd and it ruins the illusion, so they should pick one or the other. I actually think the new style looks better and fresh. Those particular drawings of the classic look like...
