Yeah that’s what I would’ve thought too. I’m interested to see if the finisher numbers drop on the official list after the results are “cleaned”. There may be some people still in that number that maybe started but didn’t finish but not sure right now.
I felt like the Half and Full were more crowded this year so I did some quick numbers to compare. Looks like the finisher percentage was up this year. Maybe more people made it to the start line? I don’t have DNS numbers so not sure 🤷♀️
2019 Half Bibs/Finishers: 25,145/18,419
2020 Half...
Congrats to everyone that ran this weekend. I was happy to complete my 10th WDW Marathon (7th Dopey) & whoa man was that brutal. I wasn’t planning to race the marathon (sort of raced the half though!) but it was just hard.
Also, for all the repeat WDW Marathon Weekenders, did the logistics just...
Not sure if you have already taken your trip or not but you can now indicate celebrations via the app. You just have to update it on your reservation online and honeymoon is one of the options!
This was my first thought/hope!
It makes the most sense given what they described... and would line up with some other ideas I have for my 10th WDW Marathon!
They phased this out in 2012 and this marathon sold out so given current trends this type of course I *think* could handle the number of...
If the course changes, someone normally will dig up the USATF certification but it usually gets released on rundisney.com about a month out when waivers and corrals are posted.
Last year it seemed like they converted some Dopey spots into individual race registrations (or maybe it was some travel agent/charity bibs) and the races reopened later in the year. I’d say to keep checking!
I would love if they included something like but I don’t think they ever would even if they did increase registration prices like they do for Wine and Dine to include this extra. With declining registration numbers it’s only giving them less money to “plus” these events and I don’t think they...
In for Dopey #7 thanks to runDisney allowing perfect Dopeys to register early!
I would totally be down for even an extra ticketed event Sunday night. Since they started doing the after-hours events anyways at MK, why not make one after the race and give a discount to the runners? Marathon...
Adding to this:
Naps are your friend - most people say don't sleep after a race but you will need it for Dopey. I'm not a napper but can easily pass out after each race since I'm not sleeping much at night due to the wake ups and the race anxiety. I'm a much happier Dopey runner with naps and...
haha sorry to knock you down Texas and no plan to stop running Dopey, it's probably the favorite thing I do every year!
I also remembered yesterday (as I was digging through photos for Disneyland 63rd Birthday) that I ran the Dumbo Double Dare in 2015 so another 19.3 to add for a total of...
