Disney Genie, Genie+ officially introduced along with confirmed details of how it will work

I waited over 3 hours for my first Beast ride in 1980. Granted it was a summer Saturday. But, yeah, the big new coasters would have Serious waits because they were so much better than anything else in the park.

Yup, you could hit 3 E tickets in the first hour no problem. Even with FP. You would grab a FP, walk on BTMRR, then grab another FP, hit Splash, etc. then use your FPS whenever. And once night came, you could enjoy short lines again. Remember, folks, Pirates almost never had a line, for...

YOU HAD DAS. You act like you didn’t use it, which is simply not possible with your statements of all the rides you got.

That just isn’t true. Before FP, crowds were much lower than now outside Spring Break and Summer. Yes, most rides had lines, because you didn’t get to skip any. But they were all reasonable waits. And as evening came, lines thinned out in general, and many were walkons.

Universal could have built this ride, and another totally unrelated one, in series, for the Same money.

Yup, folks are romanticizing FP+. Even folks staying 7 days on site couldn’t get some rides. If you weren’t on site, you entered the park with low level rides. Yes, you had a chance of lucking out, and ALL rides were available, but FP+ was really Only good for folks who stayed at WDW all week...

And I said SS Limo to Monsters is a third. Beyond that is pretty sparse. Changing GotG to another IP would be on a whole other scale than most of the others listed. Buzz is closest, as it was ripping out everything except the track. But in a very small space.

You really think 3 Cabelleros, Ellen, Tarzan, and other mini overlays are full IP changes? I Or changing movies in a theater? Buzz and MMRR weren’t full building gutting? Monsters Inc is a third one. I was surprised how little they changed the sets and animatrons

Going from no IP , or corporate IP to a simple IP overlay, or slapping in some projectors isn't quite the same. Or, you know, gutting the building, and putting in something new.

Toad was gutted, Nemo is sorta, more like a cheap overlay.

Yes’, it’s worse to a power FP+ user like yourself, especially ones with APs. However, G+ isn’t a lot different to many, especially off site folks and those who maybe didn’t have a great phone back in the FP+ days. Not to mention the parks are still offering MUCH less than the FP+ days...

As I said on another thread, the insane amount of money spent on Guardians could have bought a C/D family roller coaster for ALL 4 parks. Think Slinky Dog level. And the parks need that capacity desparately.

But on those 90-120 minute wait days you are still DOUBLING your rides, and can avoid the painful, hot waits like Splash. It's all relative. In the WDW of today, 3 more E TIcket rides during a day is a MASSIVE improvement. It's sad, but that's the cluster Disney has becom. And Disney...
