Come on there hasn't been an "affordable" apartment in NYC for decades. Condos cut into apartment availability a long time ago. Not population growth. Not COVID19 either.
Not everywhere extended. Ours has been long gone. It's more than just that... A few dozen pages back many of us shared bad stories of what service industry people have to deal with. It's not worth it to go back when they can go elsewhere.
It already has. People have moved on to better jobs.
I agree, but I also think the employment pool will be more saturated once unemployment does runout, and that includes a large chunk of people who are vaxxed, and willing to abide by the mandates.
My overall point was that when it comes to vaccine mandates a lot of people are saying "ohh well no one is going to work then, and industries are going to suffer even more..." but I dont see that as being true.
Again, in many states it *has* run out - at least the extra I assume you are speaking of. For us it's been a couple months or so at least. People still are not running back.
If the age of those being hospitalized skews younger, deaths shouldn't be as high as in previous waves. That's at least one small silver lining in this current mess.
Here in FL, virtual was not an option, per the Governor. It is only “full speed ahead”, since, you know, the pandemic is over and this is merely a “seasonal wave”.

I'm glad to see school districts starting to take charge of their area of expertise.
It will take time but in the long run will likely be good for the field. Get rid of the people that shouldn’t be caring for those in weakened state. My md and rn friends are tired but also happy to see those people go
