Wonder what their response will be? Granted the CDC left it VERY open ended. Disney wants $ and doesn't want to crimp the 50th celebration in any way.
No this is just incompetence.
Some people.
Some areas.
We either need to wear masks or we don’t.
This is a nightmare for businesses.
Well In this state we do this, over here we do that.
I hate the idea of a mask mandate but I would rather have that with clear direction from the cdc, instead of the clown show they are turning into.

This is just an article...the CDC hasn't said anything officially yet.
Disney also doesn't want the optics of either not caring about how out of control cases are in Florida or becoming a proven spreader themselves.
Like perhaps getting more shipments of Mickey and Minnie masks, making more signage for guests, plexi glass contractors getting new contracts, more retraining of cast in regards to what looks like eventually masking of guests etc, . And that's not even including what parts of hotels and parks that may be curtailed in services. Hopefully no staffing is affected including another furlough / layoffs.
People keep saying things like Disney will distance again, capacity limits again...no guidance anywhere has been pointing to that. Any city that's been bringing back mitigations has only been masks indoors.
If they do anything, they will says masks indoor and in lines again.

What they need to do is emphasize the differences between the variant that spread across the US last year and Delta, and emphasize how important it is that we limit the virus' ability to mutate.
Honestly, at this point anyone who thinks vaccines are a "force field" or ever have been is just an idiot or too lazy to use Google.
As we saw the very first time masks showed up - people seem to be getting the message here in Orlando and taking action even without official guidance.
All anecdotal evidence from my observations, but I went into a Wawa near downtown Orlando late the other night and every single person of the 20 or so employees and customers was masked. My local Publix in the western part of the metro is back up to probably 50/50 mask usage, maybe a little higher. My office in Orange County ‘strongly encouraged’ we get vaccinated or wear masks (stopped short of mandating either), but i’d say 80% of people have been masking in common areas regardless of vaccine status. All of these locations changed %’s greatly in the last few weeks from a low of 10-20% masking.
The only experience I had on Disney property was at the Springs last Friday afternoon, and very few people seemed to be masking aside from Cast Members. Maybe 15-20% max, even indoors. It’s an interesting contrast at the moment and very different from a few months back.
They were already threading the needle here. There was already two guidance directions for Vaccinated and Unvaccinated. That in most places everyone is only following the Vaccinated guidance doesn't matter.
The alternative would be to only have and for everyone to follow the most restrictive guidance for the worst possible group. There's a gazillion posts (actual number, I counted) from people saying they shouldn't need to follow the Unvaccinated guidance once Vaccinated. This is likely the same thing. There will be a gazillion posts from people saying my area is fine, why should I have to follow the guidance for an area that's a disaster. The guidance matches the conditions, not what people are willing to do.
If I was guessing, since they didn't actually announce it yet, all the red areas wearing masks inside for everyone and in blue not needed for vaccinated. The orange and yellow nuance in the guidance will be more interesting. Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue from this chart:

People are assuming that vaccination = absolute zero chance of being infected. That's not how vaccines work.

I do consider people thinking that a BIG problem. Because they're using it as an excuse to avoid vaccination..."the COVID vaccines aren't 100%, therefore, why bother getting one". I've seen that excuse so many times I lost count.

Medicine doesn’t work as one size fits all. You probably don’t sleep under a mosquito net but there are places and situations where that is highly advisable. If there isn’t wide spread of a disease then there is not much need for mitigation efforts.
You may not be aware that some vaccinated ( ie athletes and coaches ) still tested positive for covid months later so yes it is a problem for some that see it that way. Just wear the mask if one can't social distance or a business advertising no mask no service.

You are confusing me. You said it is a problem when people think the vaccine is a force field? And then you think it is a problem when people think the vaccine isn't 100% and will therefore not get it?
If that is the message from the CDC, I could see why other people would be confused. How about a clearer message stating that the vaccine is highly effective, more than anything else, and it is a freakin good idea to get one.

I am aware. 95% or so effective in preventing the virus. Maybe a bit less for the delta. Does even better with preventing symptoms if you were to get it.
But, as we know...the spread isn't coming from the vaccinated.
- Status
