It's a matter of time before Disney, Universal or Sea World is tied to a major outbreak of the Delta variant. The whole tourism industry of Central Florida has its foundation in children's entertainment. The vast majority of those kids are unvaccinated. Now the mayor of Orange county is suggesting masks indoors again. His responsibilities is to the citizens of his county, but how can he help mitigate their risk when visitors from all over the country are coming and masking is just based on the honor system? For a nation that thinks it is so tough, people are a bunch of wimps when it comes to wearing a mask indoors in public spaces. And, like in schools, as long as folks mask, this thing generally does not spread. While the scientists at the CDC may be right about the fact that masks should not be required for fully vaccinated people, they completely ignore human nature with regards to peer pressure.

The testing of people was not even "expedited" we had to wait for results. Thanks for a raging pandemic we got them fast. Clearing hurdles on other aspects did happen, but testing was sound

They are approved for usage right now. Try looking up the difference between emergency and full approval. Might shock you what the difference is.

People really miss this point. It was not rushed because the pandemic was serving up thousands of potential test subjects every day.

You can have an unknown adverse reaction to Advil and die. It's all about you evaluating your risk threshold.

An open discussion about the safety of vaccines should always take place and people with concerns should never be censored or vilified. Open reporting of incidents and data should be put into context versus the number of actual inoculations. More discussion and more debate brings more confidence to the process. The best answer to bad information is always MORE information.

But of course the very same agenda and click driven media that will scold everyone to get a shot, is also the first group lining up to sensationalize the second Mrs. Smith in Peoria has an bad reaction to the vaccine.

It's very hard for some to put this all into perspective. But when there's even a small possibility of a side effect, it's going to show itself when you're vaccinating in the numbers we are right now.

34 million people in the US have had Covid.

There have been 334 million doses of vaccine administered. Any side effect with even a tiny percentage of a chance of showing up has done so by now.

Look at the percentages. Tennessee is up 250% over last week. Florida is up 44% - and their vaccination rate is dismal. A friend of mine shared a post from a nurse he knows who was just deployed to Jacksonville, FL because the ICUs are filling up again and they need the staff.

We're not through this yet, thanks to people who won't get vaccinated.

No, what is working against Orange County right now is a low vaccination rate, barely above average for the State of FL and on the low end for large counties. The more contagious Delta variant is spreading mostly among unvaccinated people (nearly all according to Orange County's own statements).

That’s a wise stance. Questioning and skepticism of everything is a wise policy.

Blindly believing everything that the government and what experts tell you as an article of faith is not.

The hospitalization and ICU data is available. According to the CDC, as of 7/10 in the entire state of FL, there were 601 COVID ICU patients. This represents less than 10% of ICU beds. I call BS on a nurse being "deployed" to Jacksonville due to ICUs filling up. Most likely just a hospital that is understaffed in the ICU and needs nurses.

I completely disagree with your opinion. What the FL law has done is reign in cities and counties that were having endless restrictions that were not necessary based on statistics. From day one we were told by Dr. Fauci that the reason for mitigation measures was to flatten the curve so that the healthcare system was not overwhelmed. As long as the healthcare system isn't being overwhelmed there is no justification for mandated mitigations.

There's a whole segment of the population THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE CHOICE YET.

The unvaccinated are giving the virus time to adapt to target that demographic.
