????? Disneyland opened July 17th 1955.It is appalling that they didn’t learn from Disneyland’s closure for the 1918-20 flu epidemic. Walt must’ve been turning in his grave, screaming “you don’t need a mask outdoors!”

I’m sure no masks and Velocicoaster are influencing a lot of people to make the switch to Uni for their next vacation.I went to DS for dinner tn and it feels like going to the dark ages with the stupid masks and limited capacity vs Uni and literally the rest of Florida. Disney should change their policies ASAP.

Really the only wrong action IMO was negligence or inaction by a company. Even companies that had a health crisis/pandemic response plan and spent some effort planning for workforce continuity were completely flying in different directions daily. Even the most senior emergency managers and agencies were stretched. This was/is not a “traditional” incident to response to recovery scenario, it’s all jumbled up still. It's a little soon to be playing monday morning quarterback on how companies should have planned to go through a once in a century-level pandemic, isn't it?
"According to Disney, select Cast Members who are able to maintain at least 6ft of physical distancing from others and have outdoor roles will no longer be required to wear face masks. Roles such as horticulture, lifeguards on their guard stand, cavalcade float drivers, and parking attendants will be eligible for the new relaxed protocols.
Other outdoor Cast Member roles that take place before the theme parks open to guests may also be eligible.
Cast Members must keep a face covering with them at all times and put it on should they no longer be able to maintain 6ft of physical distancing from others."
I’m starting to think indoor guests masks won’t be removed until all cast outdoors have masks removed. At this rate, seems like it’ll happen within the next 2 weeks.
I’d agree with that if there are cast members not vaccinatedI kind of think Disney is saying "Hey we don't know who is vaccinated or not so if there's any chance an unvaccinated person is coming within 6 ft of our employee we're making sure they're masked up".
Nobody knows how many are and how many aren'tI’d agree with that if there are cast members not vaccinated
Sorry, I had heard something and then it was elaborated. But a shift is occurring nonetheless.

Sure, but for effective immunity, which explains current trends, we have 51% vaccinated (we know we can include 1 shot or 2 due to the UK) and ~35% of the population has had COVID-19. 35% of the remaining 49% unvaccinated is 17.1%. Effective immunity is about 68%, heavily skewed toward adults.About half the population is not vaccinated
I would think Disney is going to follow this announcement with their own on mask removal indoors. If not, the day after.
Disney masks are already half off on their web site. Personally I think Disney was caught off guard with this as they expected masks until the end of the year and now have an abundance of them that they need to unload ASAP.
