That’s funny that you said that because my dad got my uncles and aunt, who live in Jersey not far from Berlin, shots in Allentown,PA about 2 hrs drive from their house. Guess it’s depending on the draw. Either way, we need vaccine here, just not a lot here. Just opened another distribution center in my county today and that makes 4. Ready to distribute a thousand a day the article said if they can just get vaccine. Patiently waiting here. 🙂

I wonder, when people are getting vaccinated in a state other then the one they live it, are they being counted in their home state, or where they were vaccinated?

They were talking about literally running snowmobiles out to remote locations. The logistics are challenging which makes it really impressive they‘ve dove so many shots.

Some areas have to be flown into before the snowmobiles go out so yes it those areas it makes sense to do everybody at once

Without snowmobiles, but SD IHS has taken a similar approach. They announce when they’ll be in town, say Mon-Wed of a given week. Then back a month later (or as appropriate for manufacturer). JnJ will make it easier, but they correctly didn’t wait for that.
Such an approach would be admittedly difficult in large urban areas. As many here have said, though, it does make sense for large employers like schools, Amazon DC’s, Disney, etc. Run a convenient central clinic for a few days and get as many employees as possible. They could even have enrollment a few weeks in advance to prep for and allocate doses to specific demand.

"herd immunity by way of vaccination" is certainly the best way, with the least amount of personal effort, back to normal.

It's that "an individual being vaccinated" isn't "herd immunity", it's a contribution to getting there, not a final goal.

Get vaccinated, don't die, help to reduce the spread enough, but don't head out for that beer to early. It's the reduced spread not an individual being vaccinated that's happy hour time.

My sister used Kroger and was fine. Though she just switched to the Shott. Let me see if I can find a link there

Edit: that one is done with a My Chart account. Kroger was clicked that she will be eligible. Most still have 50 only

One of my Dad’s friends just called him on Saturday to embarrassingly admit she didn’t know how to sign up. She wanted to do CVS, because there was one close to her house, but she only uses her internet for Facebook. Her sister is even staying with her right now, and apparently the two of them still couldn't figure it out. He ended up registering her, but not at the CVS she wanted but one a little farther away because of appointment availability.

Access is the road block before hesitancy. Getting the people who want it but can't do online registration, transportation issues, homebound, low wage earners, with schedule unpredictability in getting 2 shots scheduled when they aren't working (J&J could help here, if people think it is a good vaccine). I saw that some communities are starting to literally go door-to-door, like a census worker, to try to reach these types of people.

EDIT: I also meant to say, in CO, our group opens on Friday!

What link did you use? When I use the link on Fox8 website it asks if I’m 50 or older and in one of the current age groups. So it wouldn’t let me sign up.

I used the regular site I just click the box to having a qualifying condition. That’s what my pharmacist said to do since I will be eligible on that day. You just need to make sure you book on or after your eligibility day. https://gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov/

Thanks to you both! I had joked about getting ADR's and FP+ for Disney as preparing me for this, but it turns out not to be a joke. I had websites for Kroger, Walmart, Giant Eagle, Walgreens, and CVS up at one point. :)

Kroger had appointment times that kept appearing and disappearing (like FP+) and you just had to keep clicking until you got one. I'm scheduled for Friday evening for 1st dose of Moderna!
