last week wanted to go from the studios to disney springs,, was told busses did not go there from the parks, had to go back to the resort, then to disney springs.anyone know why this is,and when or if it will change?you would think disney would, want people to disney springs as fast as possible, after all, riding on a bus is not spending money, thanks.

Parking at Disney Springs is free, so if they ran buses from Disney Springs to the parks, people would just park there and bus it over. Lost revenue for Disney, plus it makes it much harder for people who are actually going to Disney Springs to find spots.

I don't think this will ever change.

i know people will try to game the system, try to avoid parking fees at the parks, but is there not limited actual parking to avoid this as much as possible?do you have to go through a gate, like at the resorts, to show you are staying on disney property in order to park there, if not, it should be to avoid not paying park parking fees.

Is this new? My understanding is that they used to run Parks-to-Disney-Springs buses after a certain time in the afternoon. I want to say 3pm.

Anyone can park in the garages at Disney Springs. There’s plenty of parking, because there’s plenty of revenue to be made from offsite guests and locals (in addition to Disney resort guests.)

They used to run from the parks to Disney Springs (one way only) after 4 pm. I don’t know if this has changed since the reopening.

I think most guests go to a park and spend the day there. After doing a park all day their desire is to go back to their resort to rest for the evening. The demand for a DS bound bus from the parks might not be cost effective to run due to the lesser number of riders?? Delivering guests from the resorts might produce more people interested in shopping or dining. I see the area more as a shopping/ dining spot rather than the evening entertaining place to go for fun as it once was prior to being changed around. I miss the area as it used to be.

That could be a usable reason, but I don't think that is how it got that way. When the park(s) first opened buses were available from parks to the Shopping area. However, back when the parking lot at Downtown Disney was just flat land, that was a problem causing not only loss of income, but when the parks stayed open hours longer the the stores at Downtown, then buses stopped running and left people stranded with their cars still at Downtown. Of course, that meant that Disney had to find a way to get them back to their cars. Just going to that area shouldn't be a problem, but they cannot have one that goes directly to the parks from there.

For the life of me though, I could never understand why people would have paid the money to get in the park and then lose all kinds of time waiting for a bus and, at that time, needing to go to a resort to go the rest of the way to the parks with the same problem returning. I know that at the end of a park day all I want to do is get to my room and relax, sleep, use the pool or just sit. All that extra problem just to save a few bucks just seemed not worth the trouble.

It's been a long time since I was in the Parking Garage at Disney Springs. Didn't they or do they require you to get a validated ticket to have it be free now?

Being a Disney resort guest has nothing to do with wanting to shop or dine at Disney springs. They are definitely not going to cut off the locals and all of those folks staying at surrounding resorts and hotels over parking spaces. That would be a tremendous amount of lost revenue and goodwill.
