I think it just means that the small quantity of vaccines allocated for high risk but not in current priority groups are sent to hospital for them to inject in those the hospital administration feel qualify. They did not want that determination done by pharmacist, but they did not specify that the recipient must be admitted. They did not say physicians with admitting privileges get to make the determination ( Unless the hospital provider chooses that as its protocol). I think it is left to the discretion of the hospital. Not many doses so very few people will get it through that method... for now. A hospital might choose only those admitted, or only those under going specific protocols/treatments. I think a lot in the order is left to their discretion as long as the recipient is high risk.

While this is great for comfort, 17"-18" (depending on aircraft) of space isn't going to do anything with respect to reducing the spread of COVID but it is terrible for fuel economy if those seats would have been sold. If you block 1/3 of the seats, the fuel burn per available seat mile increases by 50%.

If I’m sitting in the window seat and infected and there is someone in the middle and isle seats I have potentially infected 2 additional people within 6 feet of me. If the middle seat is empty I have only potentially infected 1. In that case having the middle seat open cuts potential spread in half. It definitely could help. I don’t think the point is to say you can’t infect someone 2 seats away but it’s reducing the number of strangers within that 6 feet.

In your situation, they will unblock those seats. They’ve offered to do it for us twice, but as a family of 4 it makes sense to occupy a whole row of 6 and have the extra arm room.

I do believe a huge part of our LA surge was because of Lakers and Dodgers celebrations.

they could have done this all along (not during shutdown but when knotts was doing it), instead they chose to complain and complain. Good to see them finally adjusting for the times.Some news for California -

people are also less inclined to get tested now that the holiday gatherings are over.
Major testing sites have also converted to Vax sites
Illinois is still testing just as many as previous months though. Also it would mean then more and more cases are just asymptomatic or mild because if you are sick enough to be hospitalized - you get tested
who knows.

Misunderstood. I thought you were saying you'd need a bank of three seats plus one.
I know it’s a bit of a dirty word but, I believe that a combination of vaccinations and herd immunity from people who have already had Covid are driving down cases. Until a varient (South African or another) that evades herd immunity/vaccines emerges as the dominant strain cases will continue to fall. Given that the vaccines appear to fight the SA variant better then natural immunity, getting shots in arms ASAP is vitally important to beat the SA varient.
Official word from work that they are now looking to January 2022 to reopen offices countrywide. Thankfully, we can all work from home, so it isn't really an issue.
Surely, they know something the rest of us don't know.
