Do you think they won’t allow masks at all once they are not required or are you saying it won’t be like LEGOLAND where they say masks are recommended but not required?

Recommended but not required. To me that sort of policy would only make sense if the mask was primarily for the protection of the wearer.

As to you first point, I know Disney did not allow costume masks, but did domestic parks have a policy against masks for medical purposes?

I don’t know if they ever specified. I imagine a sick kid with a compromised immune system wouldn’t have been turned down, but it just wasn’t that common. I saw a girl with a hospital mask on during one trip, but I have to admit I just assumed she had cancer or something serious wrong with her. Going forward I think masks will be less unusual. I don’t think the masses will continue to wear them indefinitely but I could see some people doing it for a while. I think they will allow it going forward.

I wonder how many vaccines will eventually get approved. The New York Times vaccine trackers lists 148 in various stages of development and only one abandon so far. How many different ones are actually needed?

From last January pre Covid mitigations:

• Masks may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older (unless they are for medical purposes); however, some masks may be permitted during select special events such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Villains After Hours.

So there is a medical purpose exemption back then.

Disney should already have experience with this in Asian parks where mask wearing was more common even before the pandemic. I could see them brining those policies here.

Hopefully it becomes a lot harder to test them pretty soon

Any candidate that hasn’t started a phase 3 trial in the US may already need to go abroad to do their clinical trials. As other vaccines become readily available it will be hard to get trial participants to sign up.

On reason China had Phase 3 trials in Brazil (Other than a potential marketplace) was to be able to have the study in a location with lots of Covid19 cases.

But I agree, it will get harder as cases go down in the hotspots around the world.

Pfizer assumed about 1 in 2000 study participants would have normally got Covid-19. If same study was done in New Zealand instead of US, Germany, and Turkey the results necessary for EUA would still not be there. Their rate of Covid cases was and is a lot less than 1 in 2000

Depends on whether it is a Pfizer Vaccine or Moderna.
Pfizer - 21 days
Moderna - 28 days

Recommend no more than 4 days variance. But if delayed still get second shot, you do not have to start over. That is CDC's recommendation.

For me (Pfizer) and my wife (Moderna) it was a lot worse (First shot just had sore arm the day of the shot, maybe some aches), but still I would rate it as mild to moderate. All just the immune system responding much more than on first shot. Second shot: Mild fever 100.3 , chills, tiredness, aches. They occurred the day after the second shot. They disappeared one day after the onset of the specific symptoms. Mild Fever did not even last the day.,

Ummm...so this *is* how the zombies start?

PS. 1 hour 50 minutes between getting in the queue, and getting our box of In-N-Out comfort food. They had the queue set up like a Washington State Ferry line. ~20 rows of 6 cars that they would feed into the main parking lot, which began as 3 lines, that would merge into the main drive thru line (where the people with ordering pads were set up). I told DH, they should totally have vaccine distribution in the line.
