Hopefully Hall of Presidents at MK will reopen next year sometime after its pending closing with a new special guest that speaks at end of the fantastic show! It's one of our favorite attractions.

I hope it’s open by mid-August for my grand return to WDW . I am a little disappointed I missed the Trumpamatromic in action speaking. First time that has happened for me as an adult. Do we think the “animaJoe” will say “Come on man!” At some point in his speech

I still wish the Muppets would take over. If anything, the divisiveness will continue and I am not here for that on vacation.

And yes, I choose The Muppets over “don’t go.”

I love the muppets but it’s fine to have both. HoP is not supposed to have a political spin to it. The office of the President should be above political pettiness anyway. I hope we get back to that sooner than later. I Never understood why people got worked up over a robot giving a very generic speech that’s not controversial in any way, but if that’s the issue I’d be fine to end that tradition and just save the speeches for Lincoln and Washington. As an official Disney stance I am never opposed to more muppets in the parks. We need more laughter in the world.

COVID19 will infect people period. It is contagious period. There are volumes of data, graphs and opinions about it. The medical and scientific community is working on solutions. Politicians do what politicians do to exploit the issue. Brace yourself now! Back to the beginning of my statement, bottom line up front, COVID19 will infect people period. It's a disease and does not care about political affiliation.

Yet another reason we should be doing what we can to limit the amount of people getting sick. Hence my complaint about the crowd at MK.

I don't think anybody can predict what will or will not be open in a week a month, or over the winter. The numbers are trending quickly in the wrong direction and will continue to do so in the near term at least. I think most people are intelligent enough to know that different levels of government have different tools at their disposal and each level will presumably use its tool and not another level's tool. There is like to be more cooperation and coordination, and the bully pulpit's message will change, but yes, most decisions will be left to the states with varying degrees of carrots and sticks from the Federal government for following CDC recommendations.

There's also a reality that the federal government's tools (supply line production, testing capacity, etc.) could actually help states keep more things open.

Will WDW close again? I agree that I think it's more of a financial decision than a political decision. I can assure you, though, it's only a locals and a DVC park for the next few months. You should see the number of rentals for distressed points (points that expire soon) on various rental forums. Even diehard DVC owners, even with expiring points, aren't traveling either for their own reasons or restriction reasons.

I want as much open and functional as possible, but the virus doesn't care. Things like indoor dining, close quarters, etc., are riskier and that is only going to increase this winter. Decisions will have to be made, and where they can't be, people strongly encouraged and exhorted to take certain steps.

We need both academics and doers to get through this. We need the academics to give us the best of their knowledge and understanding of this virus and economy and the impact various decisions might make. We need doers who will take that advice, digest it, and act. Otherwise, you have academics who get nothing done and doers who do the wrong things but "hey, they're doing something!"

Well said. There’s certainly no magic bullet that‘s going to get this thing fixed and rid us of the virus. I at least have hope now that there will be a desire and a will to fight the virus and a more unified response. We’re all in this together.

Standing in a crowded street isn’t a good tactic in these times, that’s why it’s breaking my heart to see this on TV. It also broke my heart to see it at Trump rallies and protests. I don’t want anyone pushing this virus through faster with a complete lack of empathy for others. It’s what I’ve been saying since February. So don’t lecture me on what the virus is and how “people will get it anyway.” You are flat-out wrong. Wrong. You are saying that preventative measures are essentially meaningless.

I know who Charlie Brown's teacher is. I was confused by his comment. I will say this I don't think it's going to matter that there is a new President, unless he puts rules in place. Seeing large gatherings from Disney all the way to celebration gatherings, too many either don't listen or don't care. We are all going to get sick anyways. Right @GimpYancIent

It’s a time for hope. I don’t think there’s a magic bullet to get out of this, but a better tone from the top will definitely help. God willing a vaccine is on its way soon. The next few months may be a bit of a struggle but we can’t give up, we can’t see clips or pictures of others doing what they shouldn’t and use it to justify our own actions. Best course of action is to stay the course now, do your part, follow the rules and hope for a better path forward.

Absolutely. And we are going to get through this. 2021 will be so much better with vaccines, better treatment protocols, and more therapeutics. We need to to come together for the next few months, for the "darker before the dawn" and do the best we absolutely can to make sure that once we're through this peak it's behind is. And then let's get through this peak with as little human damage (physically and economically) as possible - by keeping focused on confronting COVID, not each other!

Having a new President represents much bigger changes than Covid. But it will also only help with pandemic, not continually undermine.

I don't think it has to do with pixie dust or bubbles or whatever. The message has never been clearly communicated, or, if it has, it is being misunderstood. Health experts have said that people should stay more than six feet away from each other, and if that is not possible, they should wear a mask. Many, many people are interpreting that as saying it's okay to be closer than six feet as long as you are wearing a mask. Too much emphasis on masks, not enough on social distancing.

Because the proper usage matters here, did you mean "there"? That one isn't making much sense to me. The use of "they're" or "their" changes this sentence significantly. (Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to understand where you're going with your statement.)

My point is that the wdw cms - by and large - are very pleased with the ultimate outcome. They are “somewhat” organized labor...plain and simple.
