With the return of Savi’s and the Dapper Dans, it sounds like Equity is starting to come back. Perhaps once the shows at DHS are ready to go they’ll make an announcement about the return of all those venues and possibly increase hours then.
It’s possible. It’s about cost too. If a show is expensive to run and not high enough on the guest satisfaction survey it probably won’t come back. Something like Lion King is wildly popular so probably higher on the priority list. I have no idea how popular the DHS shows are. They are a little dated at this point, but in the case of Indy at least they are old enough to benefit from nostalgia.

Frozen has always received high guest scores and is probably easy to pull off since it’s only 5 performers who are already well spaced out. Shouldn’t require many changes and should still be fairly cheap due to the limited number of actors.

When the Big Ten cancelled the fall sports season they said they would be monitoring the situation and if things improved to the point that they felt it was safe they would consider starting the season so it’s not surprising they are looking at it. The Oct 10 date is a rumor that was put out by an ESPN analyst and then the Nebraska AD shot that down. Since Nebraska was the biggest advocate in the Big 10 for playing this fall I don’t see why he’d lie about that. There was also rumor of a plan to play the conference football schedule starting Thanksgiving when all the other students are sent home from the campuses. If they started the weekend before Thanksgiving they could get the 10 games in by the end of January and have a Big 10 championship game.

MLB had a terrible start but it seems like the players realized their mistakes and stopped going to clubs on the road. Hopefully the NFL players see that and follow in their footsteps.

and now they are voting tomorrow or Monday for a rumored Oct 17th start date. A lot of smoke out there.

Did you see the high school football game on ESPN last night full stands , less than 10% masks, crazy to see. I had to double check to make sure it was live and wasnt from last year.

Rumors are rumors. I haven’t seen anything official about a vote happening. They did vote once already and it went in favor of delay. I don’t see a whole lot different right now in most of the states where Big 10 teams play then when they voted. In some like Ohio the cases are rising a little again. I did see that FL came off of the Ohio travel quarantine list a little while back. I can’t remember if that was talked about already. Good for Disney but the NE state requirements is a little more strict. It looks like it may be a while to get consistently below 2,100 and that’s assuming trends start going back down in FL. Lots to keep an eye on.

Keep holding onto it is not gonna happen ..., and a lot has changed, high school football is being played, nfl football is being played. Notre Dame and Duke are played today in Indiana with 15000 fans in the stands. Plus they now have rapid testing. Even Vegas is now taking odds on big ten in NC, if anyone knows the news its sportsbooks ;)

I am expecting that this visit will produce more rides per day due to the lower crowd levels, despite the shorter operating hours.
Keep hearing reports elsewhere about being able to ride multiple times in a row across all four Parks, but I realize situations may be unique or unusual in that regard.
Also, without FastPass operating there is no forced 'schedule' to be at a certain Attraction at a certain time....so anything goes.
One just has to deal with whatever the day brings as far as wait times go.

I will gladly report back post-visit for those interested.
Last week of this month I shall be loose on Property....so watch out!

How is opening at noon moving forward?

Epcots always been an afternoon-night time park for us. So this is great news and a nice step towards the parks returning to normal.

2 parks per day allowed by years end or early next year.

Mostly normal operating hours by January/February I imagine. Fireworks back either by Christmas, if not, then it will be spring when attendance historically picks up. Just my guesses based on following the parks for decades and visiting way too many times, :D.

So, with all this talk, any chance of Ratatouille being opened sometime this year? Will that draw in more crowds? I saw the hours from today and quite honestly saw a lot of precovid times, 60-70 minutes all over Magic Kingdom and DHS... but I’m thinking it might have been Labor Day week hours I hope

Most attractions are operating at around 40%. Tip attendance over a certain level and queues will form.

People are arguing prices should fall. I think I received excellent value.
Here’s an interesting question, what would you prefer long term? Let’s say the pandemic is gone and life returns to normal, would you prefer mostly empty Disney parks with no lines and riding rides with little to no wait but they never bring back parades, fireworks, meet and greets, FP or longer park hours or is it better to have the old way with huge crowds, FP reservations and all that stuff back? Obviously this is just a hypothetical question because they will almost definitely bring back all or most of that stuff and crowds will eventually get back to pre-Covid levels.

It is interesting that from trip reports and wait times etc. this weekend it appears the crowds have not dropped off that much if any after Labor Day. In a normal year it would but with reduced capacity the normal levels are probably still above the reduced capacity limit. Now with Disney ramping up advertising they are going to have to extend hours pretty soon, just need to hit the line where it is cost effective for them.

You’d think they’re clever enough to know what they’re doing within restrictions.

Although wait times are not currently a valid metric.

The latter as merely getting on so many rides would grow monotonous. Eventually, one would grow tired of Space Mtn. But, as a short-term option in a world where I must wear a mask, I enjoy the current situation.
