"According to local media reports, Hong Kong Disneyland will reclose due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. Local twitter account HKDL Of Fantasy reported the imminent closure, saying that formal details will be coming later."

Saw that too.

I didn't think they were seeing another outbreak over there.

You know what's funny?
Looks like Mr. Penguin just posted the same thing, but they have had a couple hundred new cases lately after being close to zero for a while.View attachment 483409
Yeah. They pretty much had it eradicated. Then shortly after opening, it comes back. Dang virus is tricky.

Overall they never had a large amount of cases, so any uptick like this is probably concerning to them.

Not at all. Not after what mainland China went through. They want zero cases. And if a community spread starts that testing and contact tracing can't track and quarantine... shut it down until the wildfire is out.
I kinda compare it to NYC as far as population density. If NYC has cases to zero and then had a surge, there would be an “oh crap” moment. Probably even more so for Hong Kong since they have came through this all pretty well. They know what could happen.

I think it is wise not to draw too many conclusions about anything taking place in Hong Kong at the moment. To be as vague as possible, there are a lot of complicated things going on there right now, and we have very little reliable information.

Have you seen anything official on that beside a third party twitter post?

Here's the chart with the updated record-breaking number from yesterday. Also note the death rate going up. For a while, it was just FL that was the only state that had its death rate go up trailing the second-wave spike that so many other states have been experiencing. But now, about half the states that have had a spike in positive cases, are now are seeing their death rate increase, even though for a while their death rate was plateauing.

So, increasing deaths from increasing cases do happen, trailing by a few weeks.

Just like our medical professionals said would happen.

And all those states combined have caused this to happen to the U.S....

Does anyone remember how the FL Panhandle was doing just fine? No worries?
