Exactly, that’s why my husband still wants to offer services and an open church to those that feel comfortable and will live stream services that still want to participate but don’t or can’t go out.
faith to
Mine doesn't when the power goes out so I always has a couple of cases for emergencies
You must be on a well, for the longest time I kept saying I'm gonna buy a generator (never did) last hurricane I did and wired so the well pump works --could shoot myself for not doing it years ago. Running around trying to find water was such a pain

Not every kid has internet

And not to mention, home users will often have unexpected glitches in their service, etc. They may not have an IT person at home to help, and there may be delay for them to find someone who can assist.

That aside, I think for many, the online school classes will be just fine, but I sincerely doubt every child who needs this interim online class solution, has a working system. 🤷‍♀️

My husband thinks everyone is over reacting during this entire virus crisis. Illinois' Govenor said something yesterday that has stuck with me. He said "We do not want to be accused of not doing enough, I'd rather be accused of doing too much".

Judging by the amount of people going out and hoarding toilet paper.....they are overreacting. The world hasn't come to an end just yet.

I think she was suggesting you have refillable bottles to take to work/school instead of buying the already bottled water. Then if the store doesn't have bottled water, you still have bottles to take with you. You can certainly fill them with the filtered water and then what's the difference between that and bottled water?

Thank you, that's exactly what I was saying.

My husband and I were talking about that yesterday... we have lots of cotton yarn, and we both knit and crochet, if we had to we could make some quick cloths to use. Not ideal, but as a last resort, it'll work.
I have the last big Sears Roebuck catalog ever published, I supposed I could break it out instead of my dreams of striking it rich on EBay... :hilarious:

The "run" on bottled water is in my area as well. We don't need it at home but all three of us take it to work and or school to drink during lunch. I'm gonna be at the front door of Costco tomorrow when they open. Gonna see if I can buy ONE case of bottled water.
Probably many panicky people recently bought multiple cases. Someone my wife knows yesterday posted a photo of our Costco at 5pm. The shelves were totally empty where the bottled water normally is. This morning I went to Shop Rite at 7am so I could buy ONE loaf of bread.
The Costco store near me does not open until 9:30am on Saturdays but they had a long line outside the store when I got in the back of that line at 8:55am. Costco anticipated that and had staff ready. They let us in 30 minutes early at 9am. I bought my one package of 40 count water, one Chicken Alfredo and one frozen item. 20200314_091435_HDR.jpg

That's good. NJ Costco has early role drop like the theme parks!

Costco unfortunately allows people to buy UP TO 5 packages of 40 count Poland Spring Water. So that's what everyone but me was doing. 5 packages at 40 bottles per package....people are going home with 200 bottles of water. THEY are the problem. I think I'm gonna start an independent thread on this topic.

The public schools here have asked local companies for help making WiFi available, and for others to share WiFi.

T’s school even sent out an email and said if anyone doesn’t have wifi or a computer then let them know ASAP, and they’ll help.

Our school year ends the Friday before Labor Day. My kids are homeschooled, so it doesn't affect me. My kids are in school rain, snow, virus meltdowns, school holidays, etc. I would think that the teachers would provide actual schoolwork for the kids to do at home. They all in our district have computer access. I know many need to submit reports, homework, assignments over a school server. Maybe @ajrwdwgirl and other teachers will be getting together at the schools so they can discuss how they will implement the temporary computer based assignments. I don't think it will be a vacation. All kids will now be homeschooled for the next month. That may be a good thing, so that it shows how productive home schooling can be. It still gets looked down upon, even though where I live it is pretty normal. My two younger kids finished their actual science curriculum over a month ago. They found it so interesting that they did multiple assignments daily. That was not me pushing, they were ambitious on their own. Language Arts will be completed within 2 weeks. Now I need to find other scholastic material for them. I was thinking of a study on famous artists like Picasso, Monet, etc, .

You know my thoughts on homeschooling.. I think it’s amazing!!! ❤️
