They are just too dry for me. They look amazing, but I never had one I liked.
The best whoopie pies are made in Maine. I don't know what it is about that state, but they sell them everywhere and they are DELISH!

I think I need to invest in my own frying pan so @figmentfan423 and I don't have to keep sending hers back and forth. We told hubby's parents we'd be there after lunch, he goes out last night until 4:00 to play Ingress, comes home, sleeps in. I get up to make breakfast, with which he does not help. He comes in, criticizes what I did, because there were 2 packages of bacon in the fridge and one was dated to be used BY the 25th....today is the 27th. So I didn't use that one. He says it was fine, and I could have used it. You want to give yourself food poisoning, go right ahead, and while you're at it, make your own dang breakfast if you don't like the way I do it! Then, it's 10:30 in the morning and he says "Do I have time for a bath?" I said "Probably not. I still need to take a shower and we're supposed to be at your parents' after lunch. You can't take a bath for 2 hours." He jokes "How about an hour and a half?" and then I finally make my OWN breakfast, and come upstairs to hear the bathtub filling. He implies that I'm lazy because I wasn't scheduled to work this week (they actually had to ask people to cancel their hours because it's so dead) even though I mowed the lawn, de-iced the freezer, cleaned out the fridge, etc along with all the daily stuff like laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, etc while HE goes out and plays Ingress at all hours. I may have to go on strike so he can feel what life is like when I'm actually lazy. If anyone sees a good deal on frying pans, let me know.
Well, I wouldn't mind the game playing so much if it weren't for the fact that he acts like because HE'S having fun and not having to work, I must be having fun and not having to work, too. He forgets that clothes still have to be washed in the weekend, food doesn't purchase and cook itself....so when he goes out to play, it leaves all the chores to me. And he totally deserves some down time. I don't begrudge him that. But I deserve some too, and I can't have it without someone else to do the chores I would normally do. So because he's playing every free minute he has, I don't get time for myself without leaving something undone. And when I choose to leave something undone, he thinks I'm being lazy. There was a mothers day a few years ago that he asked me what I wanted and I said I just wanted a nice lazy day. I didn't want to have to do all the things I always do. And we always go to his parents' house for those holidays, so we were there for the weekend. He went out that Saturday night to the movies. I was anticipating my nice lazy day, so I stayed up late, which I don't normally do, because I thought I'd get to sleep in in the morning and he'd get up with the kids. But he didn't come home until 2 or 3 in the morning, crashed, and I couldn't wake him up when the kids started hollering that they were awake and wanted breakfast. So I had to get up at 6 on mothers day to make breakfast for the kids while he slept in. Then I was really hungry, but thought he and the kids were probably planning to make breakfast for me, so I didn't eat. I waited and waited. He rolled out of bed at 10 and came and parked it on the couch. I hinted that man I was hungry. He said " Then you should eat!" So I said "Oh....ok...I guess I'll go make some eggs." He says "Will you make some for me too?" So I ended up making breakfast for everyone. We always make a brunch for mother's day as our gift to his mom....only he sat on the couch while -I- made it, and his brother and our nephew came over, too, who never help out. So I got to make lunch by myself for the whole family. My MIL tried to help and my FIL shooed her out of the kitchen, because it was mothers day and she was supposed to be relaxing. But he can't cook, and no one else was doing anything, so he couldn't tell ME to go sit down. After lunch, it all had to be cleaned up, which my FIL would normally do, but he had a herniated disc in his back and couldn't lift anything, etc. So I cleaned up while everyone else "relaxed". The same thing happened at dinner. I ended up getting up early and doing everything I ALWAYS do, but for more people while he sat on his butt and I hoped he would come and take over. We get in the car to go home and he says "So did you enjoy your lazy day?" and I thought he must be joking and he had some big surprise for me at home that he didn't want to spoil and that's why he hadn't given me the lazy day...so I said "It was just like every other day." and he says "So you're lazy every day?"No words except for I am guessing his mom always did everything for him at home. Sorry. If it was me I would be livid. I couldn’t handle the game playing like you. You are so tolerant. I hope work picks up. Holiday season is coming so it probably will.

I just started bawling because I felt so unappreciated and awful. He had no clue what he had done wrong. He honestly considered everything I did that day as being a nice lazy day. He equated me waiting on him and his family hand and foot to having a lazy day. And today was just like then, except it wasn't Mother's Day. Just that I'm supposed to do everything for everyone while he relaxes and enjoys his weekend and I don't need a break because what I do isn't work in his eyes. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, I just feel wretched.
I know what you were saying, but,Well old for what he was talking about

Yeah, and 50 isn’t old anymore. 100 is.I know what you were saying, but, sadlyhappily, you are wrong. Men in their 50's are far more into sports and sport hero's then ever in their lives. So, no there is nothing weird about it at all. As you get older you will understand.
Yep.. 50 is just barely out of diapers and close to when they go back into them.Yeah, and 50 isn’t old anymore. 100 is.![]()

Yeah, Skyrush is yellow. Stormrunner is red. I like the endorphin release in my brain of being dropped 212 feet.I thought that was Skyrush. Regardless, my body does not like all the newer crazy coasters. Maybe I am more wimpy then I was when I was your age.
I keep an eye out for recalls! There's regulations for labeling things allergen free and they have to be tested every so oftenWow, that's weird about Cheerios. I have 3 boxes of them at home (got some on sale recently). I don't have the gf issue, but curious -- how did this non-gf information get revealed?
Do you know what some of them are worth?Sitting at the barbershop and little kid goes I'm sick. It's like what are you doing here?
Next up is some 50 year old wanting autographs from retired NHL players. Are you a little old for that kind of stuff?

Some things shouldn't be bragged about in publicI make whoopie pie all the time.
X2Ooooo. I loved the pictures you posted from there last year.
I'm glad my high school was within walking distance of 2 good pizzerias one iffy one, 2 sub shops, a diner with good coffee(where I spent a great deal of time), an ice cream place and a candy store. Fast food was a 5 minute drive if you had a carWell, the reason I've never had one is because I am not brave enough. When I was in college, our cafeteria would sometimes have them for dessert. I had never heard of them, but one of our friends got one and I don't remember HOW it happened, but somehow the whoopie pie ended up open-faced upside-down on a plate, and when she tried to pick it up, it lifted the entire plate and all its contents on it, like it was denture paste. It rather turned me off...I wondered if it was like chewing gum, that it wouldn't break down for years and years, just taking up space. So I never had the guts to try them, and I'm sure anywhere but our cafeteria would have been fine...our cafeteria was not great. I got sick every time I ate pork there, even just a bite of it, and it always had a weird taste to it, like a sheep barn. I stopped eating pork there at all after the 3rd time it happened. I ate a lot of cereal because it was often the only thing that seemed safe. But that image of the plate being lifted by the frosting sticks in my mind and I chicken out every time.
YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And, y’all already knew I was gonna’ drop a coupla’ dear lil’ Emy pics in here real quick...!!!!!!!
