There’s no fence around the castle. You can reach out and touch it. Hug it if you want.

There’s no fence around the cars at DCA.

What’s the difference? Why is there a physical line between the guest and the tangible experience at Star Wars?

Why are there more rules and regulations at the new, immersive, ground breaking, “live YOUR Star Wars adventure” land than in the park it’s stuck onto!?

When a place, event, immersive show or otherwise says “you have agency,” then every instance where you DON’T have agency hurts more than if they never said anything about agency in the first place.

Well I suppose you'd have to ask Disney. However you may have missed the horseless carriage outside the Haunted Mansion in the Magic Kingdom, you know the one with the fence around it. There's plenty of buildings you can hug in GE if you want to.

At a guess I would imagine that Disney thought Star Wars 'fans' would be so crazy for anything Star Wars such as the Falcon and X Wing etc, that their excitement would be such that they'd reach out to touch it (or break some off, or mark it). Paying somebody to look out for this probably but be fruitless as they'd be constantly saying "Sir/Madam, you can't be touching that" and the damage could be done before the person was stopped.

I too am disappointed by the fence around the Falcon. However I'm also disappointed when I see hair bands thrown on Everest, chewing gum spat on Splash Mountain rocks, the spit marks that used to plague Space Mountain from the TTA as well as the damage in the queue of Toy Story Midway Mania. Maybe Disney got fed up of folk doing these anti-social things and decided that they wanted to curb that behaviour.

To be completely fair, the land isn’t really lacking in animatronics/animated figures, and Hondo, Dok, and Rex are all very impressive and entertaining to watch.

Disney’s motto with figures also seems to be fewer things, but more intricate, whereas Universal seems to favor the opposite approach.

Uh...currently only three animated figures in a major attraction and 14 acres of a billion dollar "Star Wars" land? No wonder WDI doesn't even feel the need to try when we accept such meager offerings.

Look everyone, Oga's has coasters again! This place is amazing!!!

If only there was something Disney could do to people who damage property and break rules... Nah, growing a spine creates too much of a non magical feeling. We can just call them guidelines more than rules.

A quick google search shows quite a lot of people charged by Disney?

Can you show me the pictures just after? Where everything looks the same as it did before they showed up?

That doesn’t eliminate the concept I’m advocating: pay US minimum wage (or less...the dirty little secret) to watch your spaces

France has pretty crazy laws. I believe low end workers are next to impossible to fire, so many of them are completely apathetic. Another victory for Socialism.

Let’s not go there...

The Gordon gecko “greed is good” mantra is what we all seem to be calling out here.

Not exactly a perfect concept by any means

I'm sure they press charges sometimes. I'm talking about enforcement of more basic rules. Kick a few people out of the parks for a day. Or kick them out for good if they are a multiple offender. You start doing that and you'll see guest behavior start to change pretty quick. As of now, outside of assault, theft or trespassing, you will most likely get a, please don't do that, or I'll have to say it again.

Dianoga, Lothcat, Dok, baby Sarlaac, Rex, Ronto droid, Hondo, and R5, with Stormtroopers, Kylo Ren, BB-8, and a Mon Calamari on the way. That doesn’t include any of the limited motion droids at the Coke stands or anything in the droid depot, and Rise could have more that we don’t know of.

Again, the land has problems, but a lack of animatronics ain’t one of them.

Yes, you can probably get away with being a jerk more than other places. They're probably trying to stop 'interactions' turning into screaming arguments or creating 'scenes' though this must be frustrating for cast members. I do however feel that if Disney Security get involved that they're far more likely to tell you what they feel and kick you out than if it's just cm's which is a shame.

The coke stand droids move? Did I miss that?

(I know people are exhausted with the HP comparisons, but I’m curious if anyone has a count of creatures with movement. Not counting the hundreds of window movement motors.)

Ladies and gentlemen, the "Lothcat and baby Sarlaac" defense of the billion dollars Star Wars Land. Wow. Simply, wow.

If only we could dream of this level of audio-animatronics....nah, the Dianoga rising is amazing!!! Mind blowing stuff, WDI, well done. I stand corrected.

Just the heads move, at least as far as I could tell; I’d make a list of everything that moves, but apparently knowing how to count makes one a Disney apologist here, so I’m good.

I got to see a life-sized and highly detailed recreation of the Millennium Falcon in person but there was a small fence around it. Trip ruined.
what's the point of a full scale model if i cant walk inside it using the ramp from the outside to sell me the illusion that i am walking into the actual falcon. it would be like entering the haunted mansion not from the door at the front of the mansion but through the exit crypt at the end of the ride.

Sounds like Walt Disney World’s haunted mansion.
