Loud engine noise on space mountain queue?

So for the past 6 months or so, I've noticed this very loud engine noise coming from the right side(facing the attraction) of the loading zone where the empty carts come out. I'm just wondering why has it been so loud for so long? I mentioned to my wife the other day that Disney seems to be investing a lot into new rides, but not up keep with the older ones. AKA the leaning tower at iasmw

There's obviously a chain lift back there to take the vehicles up one level from unload to load, so perhaps there is some issue with it that creates a loud noise.

It's an old arrow coaster, with a REALLY loud lift to take the trains back up to the loading area. It's basically a full loop from unload to load.

I hope they replace the track when Tron opens. It didn't seem as rough to me this Trip (I kind of enjoy the roughness), but they need to do away with the old track. The brake before the big drop is BS

After the unloading, it just goes around to the loading area on a level loop, so it's not uphill. Like I figured it's the engine moving the trains to the loading area, but just wondering why so loud, for so long? Cause on the other side, there is no noise. Anyway thanks for the replies.

It's been 30 years since I last rode on SM so I don't remember any part of it except the physical ride itself. However, I wonder could that be a noise that is piped in to simulate the noise of rockets taking off? I mean you are starting out at a launch area if you were trying to immerse and simulate it might be a noisy area. Just throwing that out there, I have no idea because it might not have existed 30 years ago and I also don't know what it actually sounds like.. so just take this as a thought.

It IS uphill. The unload is directly below the load. The lift is parallel to those zones.

OMG I can't believe this!! A guest noticed something that maintenance, Cast Members and managers have never heard in their hours upon hours in that building!! Disney is definitely not keeping up with everything!! :rolleyes:

As others have said, it makes a quick u-turn and goes up a lift to the second floor of the building. Guests who "chicken out" figure this out, as there's a pretty long, steep ramp that takes you from load down to unload. It's also one of the few (only?) rides that can't be ridden from unload to load, as there's a pretty low beam that makes it highly unsafe for a passenger.

To be honest, there’s multiple things those maintenance and cast members have reported to managers, only for nothing to be done.
