Well, they've hidden a big box at EPCOT before- and they did it by breaking the rules of scale established for all its neighbors.
And few complain about the American Adventure.

Wasn't this done on purpose due to the small stature of Colonial buildings and a desire to establish AA as the feature pavilion, viewable from FW across the Lagoon? Had they built AA at a more "proper" scale, it would have been quite small compared to the surrounding pavilions and wouldn't properly ground AA as a "weenie" of WS.

Also, cause 'Merica!

You are correct. The 'Merican Adventure was always considered the "weenie" of World Showcase. Heck, originally it was going to be a huge building that you had to walk under in order to get to the other countries, but that was considered as kind of subconsciously insulting to the other countries.

They're coming right along with it. At the pace that this has gone up, it seems strange that it is still going to be so long before it opens. Maybe they'll finish it early, but are saving it as something to use as a draw for the 50th.

The building is so large because of the size of the theater. It’s supposed to look smaller than it is because a five or six story Georgian building looks odd and would be out of line with the other pavilions.

I understand it's supposed to appear smaller than it is, but I thought that was driven by the intent from outside, not by the size of the theater inside. If they did make it a four or five story Georgian or Georgian Colonial it wouldn't have had quite the "oomph" I don't believe either, particularly from afar. Thanks for the clarification!

Hard to tell, but the tracks look to be quite close. Odd that the elevation change is so different between the inbound and outbound tracks that will share the tunnel. Wonder if there could be any sort of pass by point where riders could see each other going in opposite directions.
