Just returned from READY PLAYER ONE.

If you're sort of nerdy, grew up with videogames or cult classic movies.. you will love it.
Its littered with references and ideals of the movies.

Its message is also pretty clear about corporativism killing visionary ideas.

It was amazing seeing all the cameos, characters, games, etc.. (I never imagined I would see the live action TMNT2016 used by a family of 4 fighting in the final battle along with Battletoads, Overwatch, HALO and many others characters (including video games and comics)

Nerds will nerdgasm when they see the main characters piloting or driving cult classic movie ships or cars (like the Back from the Future, D'Lorean or the SERENITY). Mentions and small views of Battlestar Galactica, and Iron giants also are rampant.

Definitively going to buy this on 4k bluray to see all the references, its insane.

But game wise.. its pretty much TRON with touches of Reboot (tv series) and Minority report.

Also some hilarious things like the bad guy's password and avatar (kinda fitting....)

The bad guy's avatar is superman prime related.
Also the hint that the game's creator actually LIVES inside the 3d world was baffling. Because the answer of WHO IS HE is not answered.

I swear Spielberg's team must have used a ton of money to recreate that many characters just for the sake of authenticity, nostalgia and feels.

I'm off to grab a few last minute food items for Sunday. I am only going to be cooking for 6 on Sunday. Now I have to see if I can remember how to cook for that few on a holiday:hilarious:

I'm gonna buy a package (two, individual sized ham slices) and fry them up for Easter, for hubs and me. I was thinking I might get fancy, and buy a can of sliced pineapple and put a ring of one on top of each slice. Then, I'll buy a box of au gratin potatoes mix. Think we'll have green beans, too--I like the plastic bag ones that you can just nuke up for a few minutes--voila, green beans ready! :)

My daughter's school is closed today so I'm at work while she and her dad are having an adventure day together. I'm a little jealous, LOL. But tonight we'll have family game night, then tomorrow we'll dye eggs, and then Easter on Sunday.

I'm really looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend, but I also have thoughts percolating about cleaning out the garage this weekend and going to the zoo and maybe hiking and maybe the conservatory and maybe checking ToysRUs to see if the sale is greater than 10% yet..... so lets see if I don't sabotage my perfectly relaxing weekend like I usually do :banghead::banghead:

We decorate Easter eggs, too. My only problem is that hubs trys to sneak a few and eat them, even before we start decorating. Then, one year, about 4 of them rolled off the table and crashed on the floor--immediate land shark attack from the dog . . . So while decorating is fun, it does have its challenges . . . ;)

I hope you can relax this weekend--at least, forget the garage!!!

Thoughts I've had today at work:

Why am I being looped in on this?
Why is this my problem?
Why am I not in bed?

Reality bites, doesn't it? And it doesn't get any better, believe me . . . ;) But at least you've figured out the tips for self-preservation in the work world: 1. Bacon. 2. Naps (just nap with your eyes open--as I've mentioned before, it does work--I've open-eyed snoozed many times on the job!) :p

Mr Ferret 75

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

Just my 2 cents. Walk to Poly for EVERYTHING!!! beach, TS, CC, Kona, monorail, ferry. Dedicated buses that never fill up. We only saw it even close to full once. If you're studying the resort is QUIET!!!!! Cheap food and drinks. The only time I would take Poly transport is if you want to be at the front of the line for rope drop. How much time are you planning on spending in MK?

I agree with the above for @dryerlintfan . SOG is the way to go.

Due to contractual obligations this Sunday has been cancelled. Please move on straight to Monday in an orderly fashion. Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
( waves hand ) This is not the Sunday you are looking for.
Can we cancel Monday also? I woke up to see a weather alert. A prediction of 3-6 inches of snow for Monday that was not there at all last week or yesterday!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Yup. *sigh*

To @Cesar R M , many businesses still expect their people to work on Good Friday. A number of businesses, however, let their people out a few hours early, which is nice.

I left a few hours early myself, yesterday. Then it all went downhill. Got on a bus to go home, and I noticed that the driver flew past my exit on the highway. :jawdrop: Nobody on the bus said anything, and it dawned on me that I took the wrong bus!! Long story short, bus then connected to a different highway, and we ended up in a small city that I didn't know where the heck I was!

So, I asked the driver if he was just going to turn around at the end of this route and go back to Boston--nope! :in pain: He said he was off his shift at the end of this run, and another bus ran a similar route--but that bus route shut down early.:facepalm: Eventually, he took pity on me as he knew I was lost and stranded -- and drove me to another location when I could pick up some other crazy bus line back toward the city.

Took me 3 hours to get home yesterday!:hilarious:

So for our upcoming trip we have decided to eat some meals outside the parks. We have chosen 3 places that we don't have near us. One of the ones was thanks to @Goofyernmost , Sweet Tomatoes. I was always curious about it. After he mentioned it yesterday I checked out the menu. I didn't know it was a buffet and had loads of vegetarian stuff. It also scored high on Trip Advisor. The second is one a bunch of my chit chat friends have talked up and that is Chuy's. The nearest one to us is outside DC and we have no plans to head that way. We will be in Baltimore this coming weekend, but heading to where that is from the Inner Harbor makes no sense. The 3rd place is Bahama Breeze. It has been many years since we have been. I wish we had one here because I could so use the tropical atmosphere. So anyone want to critique these choices or are they good ones?

Good news kids.....we've been dog sitting my sister's 3 dogs since we came back from WDW. So since the 17th. It has been terrible, as usual, they peed somewhere every day (at least once). But my brother-in-law just left with them!!!!!!!!!!!!:joyfull:

Even better our new couches had been delivered on Tuesday but we didn't dare unwrap them until the urinating dogs left. So once my bro-in-law took the dogs out the to car he came back in and helped us set them up. They are so beautiful and comfy. I'm sitting on one right now. Kapono doesn't really know what to think, she will sit on my lap but not on the couch. We'll see how fast she overcomes that, I bet when I come home from Good Friday service in a little bit she'll be on it looking out the window!

By the way we kept the wrapping (actually huge plastic bags) that the couches arrived in and when the urinators come over again we can easily slip the covers on.

Here are the beauties. Love seat and sofa!

Oh my. I cannot like that at all! Major sympathies. Was that bus in the spot you normally wait? Or did you blindly go on it?
