Someone remind the Weather that its supposed to be spring, not winter!
I made a quick trip to the store this morning to pick up a couple of things here in North Carolina and drove home in snow flurries. I want to go on record right now that there is really nothing funny about that and to issue this warning. If you frozen "northerners" are wishing that cold weather down this way, when summer does actually arrive we will send the heat and humidity up your way. At least now you have heat, but, those puny little window AC's will not be of any use when confronted with this heat.

On this date in 2011 I made my last commute from Vermont to sign my lease for my apartment. I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt and the temperatures were in the 80's. Today 34 degrees, snow flurries, long pants and jacket. Not good.

I have lived in North Carolina for years and NC summers have NOTHING on Ohio summers :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Threaten away, send up some heat. Enjoy your snow and stay safe!!

Where you coastal, in the mountains or central? That varies from place to place.

Fort Bragg, where it was uncomfortable wearing full battle rattle and sometimes it got hot enough to light the grass on fire when we were out at the range. Still, Ohio is worse. Also, there's no freaking trees here for shade. It's all flat and exposed. I'd take NC summer over Ohio summer any day of the week!

Ahhh....same age as I am and our friend @donaldtoo You should have him pull up the cheater glasses he had to purchase at WDW one visit. They are very Disney and quite cute. :joyfull:

I started loosing my close vision when I turned 40, earlier generally for gals. I'd be a hazard on the road trying to read a map, GPS is a lifesaver for me while driving. I traveled for years for work and could keep a map on the passenger seat. I can't do that now safely. Very different if you have someone riding shotgun.
Yea, thank god for MapQuest's ability to use LARGE TYPE. That is my backup. When I had to wear glasses for distance seeing I had bifocals and that was very handy. Without them I can no longer read anything up close while driving. I am getting glasses again strictly for driving. My prescription is very tiny, but, just enough so they will write it up for me and solve the driving problem and touring problem and I can still take them off to watch 3D without a huge difference in my vision.

Yep, first thing we heard when we turned on the TV this morning. I actually wish they could have taken him alive. Low-life, cowardly, sack of crap.
Hopefully, there are no other packages still out there, and this is finally completely over.
And, also, hopefully no copycats crop up.
It's been a sick, sad, scary few weeks down this way.
And I just heard there are ordered evacuations that way, because of whatever he had at home. Hope this doesn't affect you or yours, and everyone is safe, @donaldtoo

This storm just seems to be circling right around the southern half of PA. Why isn't it pushing to the North and East and clobbering @MinnieM123 instead? The poor crocuses. :(

Everyone closed school here and all it's doing...wind. Though it made for a pleasant ride home minus the idiots. Well, less idiots compared to usual. And the wind.

I waited all day for an excuse to go home early and it didn't happen

Hello @brifraz
I don't know you....but glad to meet you :)
I teach beginning band. 5th graders. No festivals. The only "judges" are the principal and the asst. principal who write up my professional evaluations. What's your story?

Hello new friend! Been teaching high school band and orchestra for 24 years now in northern Maryland. Spent the first 20 years at the same school, then switched to the school @StarWarsGirl went to. Spent a couple years as a regular around these boards, but then they cut back on our staffing and I find myself with very little time any more! Still happy to visit when I can and occasionally throw $.02 into the mix.

Hello. Hope all is well since you've been gone

Good, but...as always...very busy. Visited the World last summer for July 4 and then right after Christmas AND for the Princess Half, so busy with good Disney time in addition to work!

It didn't. Yesterday. Today it's bad. He's also in the southern part of the county. I'm in the northern part. We're getting hit harder.

Here in Northern Carroll County, we've gotten at least 16 inches of snowfall, but compacting makes it tough to measure. I know I've shoveled the driveway twice and it was well over 6 inches both times. Now for a shower, some dinner, and a choice adult beverage or two!

Good to see so many familiar folks are still here and since I had a half a snow day yesterday and all day today, did some reading to catch up a bit. Seems like the Chit and the Chat are much the same as before! Slainte!

Yeah, pretty much the same. Except since I'm no longer in college, there's no more complaining about group projects. :hilarious: But yes, otherwise the same.
