I’m trying to skim and catch up.. Impossible.

I tried to go back and quote someone who was talking about Celtic names.. now can’t remember who it was.
Anyway, my son’s name is Tristan.. named because Tristan and Isolde is one of my favorite operas. Kiddo is of English and Spanish descent...but his paternal grandfather and father did live in Ireland for a time... that didn’t have anything to do with his name though.lol

Faust is my favorite opera.. but decided the names may not be the best to choose ;)
Really? Tristan and Isolde is so darn long!!!

Yes! I love it! I think it receives a lot of unjust criticism and obscurity. Plus, like I said, Tristan is a better name than Faust. ;)
I knew for years that I would name my children from an Opera or Composer.. I have a not-so-mild-obsession with Beethoven.. toyed with the idea of giving Tristan “Ludwig” for his middle name.. but reason prevailed and I went with Alexander instead.lol

Alexander as in Alexander III of Macedonia, not Hamilton.

@MySmallWorldof4 , I’m never going to be able to find it.. How did the meet go yesterday? (Sorry to ask you to repeat)
Well, my little dd was dropped twice by her bases. The first time her bases had her legs too far apart so they had her going into a split and she lost her balance and fell. And the next time she was on a girl's shoulders and as the other flyer who was holding her arm(they lock arms in a stunt), didn't let go as she came down and pulled dd off and forward off her shoulders. So needless to say they did not get credit for a pyramid. Little one cried during the end of the routine and smiled at the same time( a smile cry) because you have to keep smiling. They ended up 4th out of 5. I thought they would get last. They were the last to go and I thought they had a good chance to win since they had what seemed a more complicated routine. These errors had never happened before, so the coach will have a lot to talk to the bases about. I sent her the video which had a good angle of the falls. Unfortunately Wednesday's practice may be canceled cause of the snow.

Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry to hear that! Was she hurt? (Beyond a shake off moment)
I hope it didn’t shake her or cause her to distrust her bases.. that’s scary and understandable if so! I hope they figure out what went wrong and how to prevent it from happening again. It says a lot that even with the pyramid fail they still didn’t come in last place! That’s something to be proud of.

Good evening!
I have a youtube channel. It just dawned on me that maybe some of my WDWMagic friends would find it interesting to view one of my compositions. It is 1 minute 23 seconds in length. This video is a song I composed for my best 5th grade flute player to perform at our band concert. I call it "A Cheerful Song".....and for demonstration purposes, I'm the one playing the flute. :joyfull::)

This one is my trumpet composition. 1 minute and 9 seconds. For example purposes, I am the trumpet player. As you may have guessed, my youtube channel allows my students to get their solo "stuck in their head". They can listen to it at home as often as they like ;)

Very cool that you do that for your students. My DS just left for New Orleans, with a trio he wrote for his 2 cousins and him to play together. (Piano, cello, and trumpet.)

That was me. :) My daughter's name (I prefer not to say what it is) but it rhymes with her dad's name and is from one of my favorite books.

Yeah. The coach said they scored an 89 something without the pyramid, since they didn’t do it, but they had 2 1/2 point deduction for the falls. She said they were headed towards a 93 if not for the mistakes. Would have been their best score of the season. Oh well they have 3 weeks to practice until the next comp in Baltimore. Dd was upset for a bit. She shook it off quickly though. She wanted to watch the other teams from our gym before heading home. I think she was embarassed and she knew of course that with the mistakes they couldn’t win. When she sat on my lap when they were done performing, she asked if anyone else had fallen. She knew the falls weren’t her fault though. Unfortunately it happened and you learn from mistakes. A team wins and loses together, as you know all too well.
