Kid: if I scare too long I pobby break down and cry. Wooooaaah sweet kild of mine. When I see you face, it takes us away to that special place...

Husband: this was a LOT more cute forty five minutes ago :bored::bored:

:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
Ha ha ha!!!!
Someday you’ll miss these days..
In the meantime, they can be trying. ;)

My kiddo says to me yesterday-

“I’ve been thinking about where I want to have my birthday party. I’ve decided on the place.”

“Ok. Where?”

“The Symphony of the Seas.”

“What?”

“Mom, you know. The super huge epic new cruise ship, Symphony of the Seas.”

“Sorry bud, you’re out.”

I put it on FB.. the family he went to Columbus with was apparently discussing cruises on the way there. The mom commented to blame herself. I guess that’s where he got the idea.lol

Sometimes I wish he would go back to the sweet repetitive singing days. ;)

I'm wondering the same, it doesnt look anything remotely mexican. Just looks like a big apartment tower you see in Miami.

If they wanted to make it thematically, they should have copied the Pyramid hotels that are in Cancun and Costa Maya. (the Grand Oasis and Oasis Cancun)

Yep they are going to botch the theming of Coronado up with Urban Hotel. I feel the same way about Bay Lake Tower. Plopped an Urban hotel right on Bay Lake that could be found in any large Urban City USA or World. Not say not going to be very fine lodging just neither scream Disney Theming or Imagineering.

I haven’t seen that movie, but I swear by Common Sense Media. They break everything down in detail!
Thanks. Never heard of that. I will check it out. My 2 youngest dd’s favorite movie right now is Summer Rental. Think it was from ‘84 or ‘85. There are a few bad words and some innuendos but it is all pretty harmless. It is on the blu ray player in my car right now. :)

oh it’s wonderful!! Definitely check it out, movies, shows, books.. it rates everything and gives parent and kid reviews along with the site’s. Breaks down why the age is recommended how much sexual innuendos/cursing/etc. it’s been such an asset to me.

This weekend we watched Chitty Chitty Bang Band..and ..Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Went super old school!

I’ve never heard of Summer Rental. I’ll have to look it up. I did cave and start up Netflix again.. I went almost a full year without it!

Will I need to worry about any parts for my 7 and 10 year old?

No is should be fine, a little romance but nothing too racy. Topics such as racism is dealt with, but that could be a good educational discussion later.

And since you homeschool, you could make it a research assignment for them to research the real person and compare to the movie.

Has anyone seen Leap?

I babysat my niece and nephew a few weeks ago, it’s my niece’s favorite movie so they brought it with them. I actually really enjoyed it.
@MySmallWorldof4 your girls may like it if they haven’t seen it yet. And @dryerlintfan for A. Warning -my 3 year old niece has been practicing “her ballet” ever since, so it may add another obsession;). Super cute movie though.

Love Willy Wonka, not Chitty Chitty Bang Bang so much. Summer Rental was On Demand on our cable for a few months last year. The kids loved it, and then when it was taken off I bought it for them.

Here are some pictures from my weekend with my niece. Friday night was just taco night and relaxing at home.

Saturday was breakfast at the bar in our town, The bar in our town serves excellent food and the breakfasts are excellent. Sorry no pictures of that, maybe another time for that. After breakfast we headed to the Mall of America. After I returned some clothes to Macy's our next stop was the Disney store.

Looks like they are releasing fancy Mickey's throughout the year. Here is this month's.

I love Tangled and the Tangled series. Flynn Rider/Eugene might be my cartoon boyfriend. I found this plush Eugene on clearance. Yes he came home with me.

We wandered around and found a seat in the big rotunda for the Chinese New Year celebration. It was fun to watch the dragon and some of the musical acts. I love that it is the year of the dog. But really for Kapono, every year is her year!

Then we went to the glow in the dark mini-golf. It had a rock and roll theme and was really fun. I came in last but I was the only one to get a hole in one!

We stopped at the cheese store and got some samples (yum!) and the Minnesota themed store still had this photo op up from the Super Bowl a couple weeks ago. This is a pretty popular phrase in this area, another appropriate one would have been Uf Da! That is a pretty popular Scandinavian American phrase in these parts! :)

We had lunch at Shake Shack and it was super yummy and so filling. We didn't end up eating dinner until late that night. THis is my bacon cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake.

After eating we stopped at the dough stand for cookie dough to eat later at home. And we headed home. Once home we chilled played games including the Oregon Trail card game. And just like we the old computer game we all got some sort of calamity and died before reaching Oregon. This morning I took my niece to church to listen to the visiting bell choir after making her Mickey waffles for breakfast and then we played some games before taking her home.

Once I got back home I hubs and I relaxed and then he talked me into going to see Black Panther. I'm glad I went it was really enjoyable. But I never got my nap so I think I will be sleeping well tonight. Oh and we have snow and ice on the agenda for tomorrow. And I think I'm coming down with a little bug, sometimes I feel great sometimes I feel icky. If I'm going to be sick, I wish it would just come already. Or if not go away.

Looks like a great weekend. I never knew what to do with my niece. The simple things were lost on her and while always polite and well mannered you could just tell little impressed her. But I have great memories of her childhood, she was 4 when I took her on Splash Mt. She loved it until the Big Drop and off the ride immediately called her mother to complain that Auntie Gabe used very poor judgement.  :joyfull:

How old is your niece?
