Olympic opening ceremony just ended. They did a fantastic job. What was even better was that there was zero commentary. I could enjoy it without any unnecessary babbling. It had a few touching elements. I would recommend watching it.

We are currently watching it on NBC and hubs and I were talking about commentary vs. no commentary. We both agreed we liked having some stuff explained and hearing some of the facts. Then I ran across your post. Interesting viewpoint that you have as well. We have enjoyed what we have seen so far.

I went to the Dutch embassy today to pick up my new passport, luckily I got to keep my old one as it has quite a few stamps from my travels that are great souvenirs. My new passport is valid for 10 years and currently looks very clean and boring. It got me thinking about what I want to do in the next 10 years, where I want to go and what I hope my life looks like in 2028.

I hope you fill up this new passport with many more stamps. Happy travels!

Go ahead and complain away...:)
Good. Because a group of them ran towards TT, 25 minutes before park closing, so why they were running was beyond me, then didn't even run for the line. They ran for a wall and had to run back to the standby entrance. They then jumped several ropes, cutting us in line and leaving their chaperone behind in line. Then they were obnoxious while waiting in line.

I'm fairly certain I never behaved that badly as a teen...

Ugh, teens, from what I know of you from this chit chat thread I don't think you would have behaved that way.

I am guessing CM’s didn’t see them cut? This is also a group mentality thing maybe. If they were just a few kids they may not have done it, but since there were a lot they may have felt empowered to behave like entitled brats? One of those times when you feel the anger building and you just want to yell at them but don’t because sometimes it is just not worth it.

I'm too young to yell at them and too young-looking to yell at them. But it also goes against my rules of not saying anything to anyone else unless said person is doing something dangerous, regardless of age. CMs did not see them cut.

There's obviously a cheer competition this weekend, so we've been seeing lots of high school groups. This was by far the worst.

My parents taught me better. They would be mortified if I had ever acted that way.

My mom was always the chaperone when we had our school Hershey Park trips. We were definitely not allowed to be brats. My mom's stares can kill. :hilarious:

That is a shame. The reason I booked our trip for the 3rd week in May is because the last big competition of the season is the week before. I didn’t want to deal with the cheer kids. While I am a parent that is on top of my kids and their behavior there are plenty that don’t. I see it with dd’s team. There are a few kids who act quite disrespectfully to the coaches. The parents laugh it off and think their kid is just being cute. I want to tell them that they need to tell their kids to behave, but I am not into drama. I figure if they don’t listen then they will get hurt. Not my problem.
