I remember I went with my brother to ride Body Wars shortly before it closed fairly late in the day. The inside of the building just looked scary; this big giant building with the domed ceiling but it was basically empty and weirdly lit. It looked dystopian. You felt like someone was going to jump out from behind something and kill you.

lets be honest both WoL and Horizons if open today would have needed to be completely re hauled by now anyways. They were extremely dated by the time they closed. I know they were both cool but they did not age well at all.

So I was scrolling through Google images looking for pictures of Figzilla (don't judge :hilarious:), and I came across this photo report which was posted one month before the closure of WoL. I never realized how deserted the pavilion was towards the end, and what poor shape it was in. Take a look:

The pavilion was actually in pretty good shape on January 1 2007.

Not many argue with that.

Nor are we making peace with V'Ger from Star Trek: The Motion Picture, but that particular concept of the future is out of date.
So is Imagination apparently, but they scrapped something together to keep somewhat of a version of Figment alive at least. Can't say the same for Horizons. Wish they could have re-hauled the ride and elaborated more on the futuristic ideals of colonies.

Not disagreeing.

And I have a confession to make. I haven't watched a lot of Star Trek (only saw like the first half of the very first episode with Patrick Stewart, but since it is now on Hulu and Netflix, guess I better get back to it so I can Live Long and Prosper ;))

General rule of thumb for every Star Trek series (except probably the first one), the first season is really rough as each show tries to find it's footing.

Also, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is the best series.

Could you elaborate? From the pictures it looked moldy to me.
Can you point that out? I see dirty ceiling tiles and the results of minimal upkeep but nothing inherently bad.

I’ve recently been trawling through a few hours of detailed video shot all around the pavilion on the last day of operation. It was in generally good shape.

No Avery Brooks.

Just "Star Trek" (also referred to as The Original Series, or TOS) is Shatner.

Its a shame that Discovery is tossing out the entire prime timeline. It would be a great show if it was set after Voyager. As it stands, the best "Star Trek" on TV, right now, is The Orville...

As a former Mission Space Cast Member, I have always been surprised that Wonders shut down given how much it had to offer. Sure it needed some updating, but in particular with Body Wars, given how popular the Star Tours ride has been, you'd think they could have done something more creative to renewal its longevity.
