Today I had planned to do some much needed work around the house, and then my grandson lost his wallet. The wallet was found, and when talking to my grandson's girlfriend, we decided to blow off the work, and go Downtown instead. I haven't been to Downtown Chicago in years. We ate breakfast out, and took the Blue Line Downtown, and ended up at the outside German Christmas Market that was set up in Daley Center. From there we went to State Street, where we discovered a Disney Store, that I forgot was there. Cheyenne has never been in a Disney Store, believe it or not. We browsed. From there we headed to Macy's and looked at their great tree. Took lots of selfies. We were then off to Millennium Park to see the "Bean", and their tree, and their ice rink. The Bean was fun. The tree disappointing, and the ice rink only had a few brave souls. From there we went back to the Disney Store, and I got some great deals. We then hopped back on the Blue Line, and met my grandson at his workplace. It was a fun day. How come the best days are those done on impulse. Not the planned ones?

Sounds like a wonderful day. Grandson's gf never had been to a Disney Store? For heaven's sake! That is unbelievable. Good thing she met you.:)

It was a fun outing today in Chicago. That's me, and Cheyenne. Cheyenne is my grandson's girlfriend, and there's a lot that she's never done as a child. I had fun taking her downtown, and showing her some Christmas traditions. Like the tree in the Walnut Room at the old Marshall Field's which is now Macy's. I worked there back in 1965.

Gorgeous pictures! Thanks for sharing!:) I am surprised that the trees in the shots were covered in yellow leaves. All the trees here in south central PA are all leafless. :(

Agree totally! And I am looking back trying to figure out if I've said anything that could be construed as rude and I apologize if I have. I can't find anything offensive in anyone else's posts, so I kind of assume it has to be me, though I don't think I've ever called anyone a twit. But I AM sorry if I've come across as judgmental...it certainly isn't meant so. We all do what works for us and what we can and I think we all have different ways of doing that, but no one would deny your family has done a lot for your community and kudos to you for that.

First off, it's definitely not you.
Secondly, if anyone else out there might be wondering same as Songbird that it might be them, it's definitely not them, either. That's not how this person would think.
99.9% sure this is no misunderstanding.
I've seen it too many times before, and not just with me.
This person either 1) just simply doesn't care how they come across, or 2) is truly oblivious.
Again, I'm 99.9% sure it's the former.
I'm sure they think their thinly-veiled passive-aggressiveness is ingeniously cute and they get a good giggle. Which makes it even more sick and sad.
They, definitely, have issues.
Anyway, I'll just have to put this firmly, mostly (unless there is a direct attack), in the ignore category as with some other things around here. I say mostly because there is that 0.01% of doubt. ;) And by ignore, as always, I don't mean putting them on ignore, just simply ignoring them.

Also, thanks so much for the compliment to my family and myself ! :)

And that's all I got to say about that. ;)

Now, on with the show and time for me to do some ketchup...!!!!!!! :joyfull: ;) :)

I am watching The Wonderful World of Disney. Great stuff to put me more in the holiday mood.
I am recording it so that we can all watch it together after school is done tomorrow. :)
Taking pics with my new iPhone makes it so much easier to post them here on this site. I need to get out more.
The camera on the iphone is great! Love mine. It does make for easy picture posting. :)
