They really are creative little stinkers at that age, aren't they? DD had the teachers at preschool convinced she didn't understand Dutch and they were all concerned and telling me I needed to speak Dutch to her at home...she was just pretending. We all got a laugh out of it when she giggled and admitted that yes, she was just joking. I'm glad you can laugh with your family about that moment now...I'm sure it was mortifying at the time, but makes for a great story!!

Indeed!
Youngest DD has always been the best at it, though...!!! :hilarious:

@Cesar R M , my dh is constantly having computer issues at work, especially lately since a different company took over
Yep, as the parent of a special needs DS, I get most of that. Many times, you just never know what's up with what that particular child might not have control over.
However, (and youngest DD isn't special needs) even though removing her from the store and strapping her into her car seat in our van, obviously, escalated the situation, it only escalated it for her and myself...the rest of the patrons in the store were no longer subjected to it, and nor should they have been.
As I said, it never happened again with her, but, I would have done the same thing again in a heartbeat if it had. And, I would not have hesitated to do the same with our special needs DS or our oldest DD in the same meltdown mode.
It didn't matter to us if it made the situation worse for us, at least it wasn't affecting other people, special needs or not.

As an aside...
When the kiddos got older we aloud them to wander around the store a bit. At one point, a thing DS started trying was approaching us at the register with some item he wanted. The vast majority of the time, the answer was "no".
The first time he did that and got a "no" answer, he just plopped it in some space near the register line. Uhmmm...nope. "Go put it back where you got it from, or I will escort to do so" (and, this was long before I ever worked retail).
That first time I stealthily followed him...
And you can guess the rest...he eventually got it back to where it belonged.
Although he still approached us at the register with similar at times after that, there were no problems with making sure the item got back where it belonged after that.

Also, so very glad to hear your DS seems to finally be getting the help he needs. We're All wired differently, and the whole life thing can be Sillyville (yet, I wouldn't trade mine for abything) to navigate...!
I would always worry myself whether or not my kids were disturbing others. There were periods with each subsequent kid where we could not go to a restaurant with them. It was about the time they were close to 2. They would try and climb out of high chairs because they were done. They weren't the kind to wander about, but as dh and I found less enjoyment in the whole eating out experience because we were worried a kid might explode, we did a lot more take out for awhile. It was stressful for us because we ended up worrying more about how the kids were behaving and heaven forbid they disturb others. We found it fun when they were litlle just getting take away. We would get it after the kids were asleep and could then just have a quiet and romantic dinner in the living room watching tv. That never happens anymore as they are sometimes up longer than us now.

It's my imagination or your comment was cut off?

What kind of issues he is having?
I was taken away from the computer and I guess sent reply by accident. Didn't even realize it. Constant issues with the the computer systems. They charge $90 an hour for remote support and then charge more when they come in to the office to fix it, and then another problem seems to pop up.This week he thought a keyboard was not working because when a certain key was pressed zeros all just started showing up on the screen in a field and they couldn't be deleted faster than they were appearing. He thought it was the keyboard, so he went to Staples and picked up a new keyboard, but nope it wasn't the keyboard. The computers are only 2 -3 years old so he thinks it is the software that the office uses, so he will be changing it out. Hopefully sooner than later because unfortunately nowadays without computers you can't run a business. Sometimes the old way of doing things seems so much better and less stressful.

I figure staring at this screen will tire my eyes out and I will go back to bed. I went to bed late too 11:30, which is not normal for me, so although I feel wide awake now, it will hit me later. Luckily no plans today but to cook. That is a rarity. DD6 has a birthday party to go to tomorrow at the Y that I am not looking forward to. It is a pool party, and I cannot stand the Y. The chlorine smell is nauseating, and the locker rooms are icky. I am hoping it will be warm and she won't have to change there. Hoping for just a cover up. Whatever happened to old fashioned parties at home? Too much complaining from me this early in the AM.

I still cant fathom of why they would use the online 365 version.
Same with the Photoshop monthly payments online system.
Infact, I hate any service that are strictly dependant on online activations. They always give trouble. Games are a fine example of this being used in the wrong way. Including people being unable to play because they decided to install the security/activation servers in a potato server and they "didn't expect" to get millions of people trying to play at once.

Id rather stay with the full self service versions. :p

We need more GOOD IT people like you where I work!!! :cat:

I do too. So I went to Target to pick up the things I didn't get yesterday. I went in around 11: 30 A.M. They were just stocking the selves. The stocker's had the isle's blocked off and wouldn;t let anyone around to get any items. This was happening all over the grocery part of Target. Who stocks a store for grocery's at 11:30 in the morning, on a Friday. Another store off my list.:mad::mad: Pretty soon I'll be ordering off Amazon instead of the stores around here.

Proof positive that the manager of that store is a moron.

This was like a deja vu moment for me. My parents were the type that never fell for my shenanigans, and pretty much, the only words they said to me were either "no" or "yes"--(usually, no . . .). ;)

I think I was around 5 at the time, and my mother and I were walking through a major department store in the city. Of course I wanted EVERYTHING. :p After her telling me no, about 4 times, I decided I would sort of stealthily grab just a few (smaller) things by my side, when she wasn't looking. I figured that when we got to the register, it was too late to turn back and she'd just buy them for me. :D

As we approached the register, she saw my "stash" and demanded an answer. Went like this:

Mom: What are you hiding?!
Me: (sheepishly . . .) A few nice things.
Mom: Do you have a job, and the money to pay for those?
Me: No, I'm a kid. :hilarious:
Mom: Young lady, you march right back to where you found all these and put them back!!

So we traipsed all over the store (keeping in mind--escalators, elevators--my stealth was multi-floors) and my mom was NOT pleased with me . . .

:joyfull:
