A flat strip? nope, those only protect against a lightning strike using a fuse system.
Surge protectors and UPS protect for +5% or above variations in the electrical grid.
Then above these, there are the UPS or Battery systems (Uninterruptible power supply systems) that protect from both down and ups.
You can get cheap 500VA or 1000VA models of UPS to protect most computer systems ( I have 2x 1500VA ones, since my systems are pretty hefty)
My dh has 4 of those battery back up thingys in our house.

Don't you mean "all medical treatments are insane" ?
The prices I've seen on the internet about US medical treatments and emergencies are insane. I would be in debt forever for a simple sprained angle if I had an accident in the US lol.

Yes, prices are high. My insurance covers everything though--so, in comparison, my regular copays for visits are very low. Only emergency department copays are high--but everything else is covered under my insurance.

@donaldtoo , heard this story on the news this morning about the Ford Explorer Interceptors (used in a number of police depts. across the country) being pulled off the road, due to CO2 affecting the officers. Yikes.

Looks like Austin pulled the whole fleet. Also, up in MA, 3 officers were overcome yesterday and went to hospital--at least one drove off the road. Ford engineers arrived on site of that police station, trying to determine how 10 vehicles in that fleet tested positive for CO2.

It can be insane, but that's why insurance exists. And that's also insane. But better to pay $1000 to have a ligament in your thumb fixed than $10,000.

My company actually has a doctor on site for employees to use. Once I'm an employee in September, I'll be able to use it. Best part is it's free. Company provided.
My dh has a service like that at work. He likes it for the most part except for the mandatory shots

According to the Division of Agriculture at the University of Arkansas, one bushel of peppers weighs on at approx. 28 - 30 pounds! You bought two bushels??!!! :jawdrop:
Hoping to buy tomorrow. When I make stuffed peppers I make enough for a few nights and some to freeze. It doesn't take much longer to make a couple of turkey roasters full of stuffed peppers than one. I also like to keep chopped peppers in my freezer for winter.
