That's just crazy! I'd like a bigger kitchen and a dedicated mom cave but that's about it. That's way too many rooms to clean and you'd need a map:eek:
Consider the fact that if you could afford that building, you probably have an entire staff of people to do all the grunt work. You just sit there and eat your veggie bon-bons, while the paid help fans you gently while you exercise. In other words, not much stress at all.

For me it sounds the following:

  • The Battery is the damaged part.
  • The Battery damaged the charger in a chain, probably a surge that bounced. Hence why the charger was not working but the universal one did manage to turn the PC on.. but did not charge the battery.
  • NEVER use universal chargers, specially if they do not fit. Since the movement can make tons of mini short circuits and some of them have different amperage and even voltage. This can potentially kill a computer, a battery or a connector. (this probably gave the cup d' grace to the battery, and if you have bad luck, it might even have killed the battery connectors to the laptop. Requiring a very expensive repair )
If you are buying a new pc, remember to check reviews on both amazon, newegg (certified buyers) and perhaps websites. (write the model of the laptop and then "review") to see how stable, how good the performance is and how reliable they are.

That way you wont end buying a lemon or cheap disposable computer. Even the top manufacturers have these kind of throwaway computers for low prices.

In the good side. Thanks to AMD Ryzen and AMD Threadripper processors and platform, Intel was forced to lower their prices.
Which means you should be see a bit of discount when buying computers.
Thanks!! I never knew that about Universal chargers, but the universals didn't work with this computer anyway. I have a Toshiba laptop and I was able to order a Toshiba laptop charger off the internet, it got here today, and it is working just fine. The battery still had a bit of charge, which is why I could turn the computer on yesterday, even though the adapters didn't work...but a guy working in a computer store should know that you can turn a computer on without it being plugged in, as long as the battery isn't dead. The fact that he did not know that did not inspire my confidence in his ability and knowledge to assess the problem or fix it. But, now I have a new adapter, it's working, and I didn't have to give money to a store that is not doing a good job.

I'm not picking on you or trying to start any arguments but this scenario is something I have seen happen at airport gates and on planes. And I don't get it? How are families not sitting together? When I book my tickets I pick out my seat, and have that assigned seat for months. I thought this was something people do, pick out their seats upon purchase.

I know that Southwest doesn't have assigned seats, and the cheapest class on Delta seating is assigned at the gate. I suppose last minute tickets would have this problem too,and I suppose sometimes there is a goof by the airline but otherwise why not just book seats together? Again, I'm not trying to start any arguments, but it does baffle me a little.
Sometimes you can and sometimes they charge you a LOT extra. I'm not paying 100 extra dollars to choose seats, especially since I know they are required to seat us together by law. And sometimes the system messes up. I don't remember exactly what the problem was with Frontier...we had actually paid extra to choose our seats, but there was some problem where it hadn't recorded it or something, so the guy ended up refunding the money we had paid to choose our seats and he had to find us new seats together. Usually we do choose our seats in advance if we can, but sometimes it's not worth it. What I don't understand is how you can buy a block of tickets together and it doesn't automatically put you together. Why doesn't it just assign you 4 seats together if you bought 4 seats and didn't want to pay the extra to choose your own. Like at Disney, you go to a ride, they ask you how many are in your party and they seat you together. Even though you might ask to sit in a specific row on Soarin', they don't split you up all over the place to do it. And I know there's no assigned seating there, and it is on most flights, but I think it's unethical to charge people to choose seats so they can be together when the law dictates they have to be seated together. I shouldn't have to pay extra for them to follow the law.

I don't get it either. If you know when you are to board the plane, you should know BEFORE if the seats are together. With having to put birthdates of all passengers in when booking a flight, it'll show a minor passenger.
Just one experience...when my dad died at the end of March, we had to book last minute flights. Obviously, when it's that late, most seats are already assigned, but they still have to follow regulations. It was a flight for which you could not choose your seat until you checked in. So we got there, we had to do a "pre-check in" on a computer, using our passports, and choose our seats, which we did. When it printed our boarding passes, they were not the seats we had chosen. Before we got in the line to check our luggage, we asked the attendant about it because it did not look like the seats were together. She looked and told us we were seated 2 and 2. That's no problem...one kid with each parent. So we went further...we got to the counter, checked our luggage and again asked to make sure. She assured us we were indeed seated together. We go through security and get to our gate and I went to look up which zone we were in for boarding. I was in a different zone than the rest of them...if we were seated 2 and 2, TWO of us should have had the same zone and the other two should have had the same zone. DH took the boarding passes to the gate attendants and asked...not one of us was seated together. So the computer had ignored the seats we chose and the personnel had lied to us about being seated together. DH spent 30 minutes at the gate trying to get it fixed and they finally just told us they would deal with it on the plane, which meant asking other people to switch with us, which no one wanted to do. Everyone just passed us on to the next person even though we had chosen seats together in the first place. No one wanted to be the one to fix the problem. So by the time we got onto the plane, we had to stand at the front of the plane for 20 minutes. We were the LAST people to board because we were trying to get it fixed, and then we stood there waiting while they asked for volunteers to move. I ended up in tears thinking they were going to kick us off the flight because they couldn't have the kids sitting apart from us and I was already frazzeled and stressed and grieving. All because the stupid computer ignored our seat request and the gal at the gate didn't want to deal with it, so she lied and told us we were together when we specifically asked because those were not the seats we had chosen.

Good to know only the original charger was busted.
I still recommend getting a surge protector just in case.

Cats update:

Jasmine has been banned from my room while I'm trying to sleep until she learns that it is not polite to bat someone's toes while they're asleep. She sleeps downstairs, and Belle sleeps with me. Both cats invaded this morning when I opened my bedroom door.

I carried Jasmine outside yesterday for the first time. When she's a bit bigger, I'll get her a harness and let her out a bit more. She's curious, so why not as long as she's leashed?

We say Jasmine has two speeds: stop and go. And go is quite fast. There is no in between.
